“You are NOT wearing that to Noah’s party!”
“Thanks for the encouragement.” Note the sarcasm.
“I’m just looking out for you, Dani. You don’t want to go looking like that.” I was wearing a spongebob shirt and jeans. I didn’t think anything was wrong with this. It was just a party.
“I’ll let you borrow one of my dresses. Here.”
“I’m NOT wearing that.”
“Yes you are if you want to forget about Danny?”
“Ugh. Fine.”
“You look gorgeous, Dani!!” I blushed. The dress Lexi let me borrow was a strapless red dress that was kind of tight on my body. It went a little past my knees. I didn’t like wearing things like this but I wore it because Lexi insisted it was necessary for me to wear it to the party. My hair was curled and let down to flow down my back. I spun around a couple times in front of the mirror before turning to Lexi.
“Okay.” I smiled. “Let’s go.”
“Hey girls.” Noah eyed us up and down. “Looking sexy.” He managed to send us winks before Lexi smacked him upside the head.
“Are you gonna let us in or are we just gonna stand here all night?” Lexi tapped her heels. I cringed. I managed to get Lexi to let me wear flats. She pushed the heel thing a bit too far and I was on the verge of tears before she backed off and let me wear flats.
Noah backed up into the door and widened the gap. “I welcome you to my humble abode.” I giggled at his statement and stepped in.
I’ve been to his house a couple times before over the summer but it looked way different. Most of the furniture was gone, probably to prevent damage from rampant teens, and a lot of decorations were taken into custody somewhere else.
The smell of alcohol smacked me in the face. Hard. I choked and glanced at Lexi. She chuckled and shook her head.
“You have a lot to learn, young grasshopper.”
I looked around. Teenagers were dancing in ways I never thought was possible. How could they be so … attached? What was the world coming to?! This isn’t dancing at a party… This is practically a brothel! My mouth gaped in surprise and disgust. The girls were wearing things that were way shorter than my dress (which I thought was the most provocative thing, ever). Some guys were shirtless and some were just tipsy to the point of dancing with walls. I couldn’t help but laugh at that last one.
“So what do you want to do first? Dance? Drink?” Before I could answer, Lexi pulled me to a cooler. She tossed me a can and it was definitely something I wasn’t used to holding.
“Bottoms up.” She smiled and opened the can, chugging it down like a sailor. “Your turn.” I eyed the can suspiciously, not sure whether if I should drink it or not. I was semi-convinced I could open my eyes as my stare dug holes into the container. “Come on, Dani. Stop being such a wimp.” Oh what the heck. Here goes. I opened the container and chugged it. I winced at the taste. It wasn’t as good as people make it seemed.
~Daniel’s POV~
“Hey man. How’s it going?”
“Going good, man. Glad you could make it.” Noah welcomed me to the party. He always throws awesome parties randomly and I couldn’t not go. It was one of those things you can’t miss or you’d regret it for the next week or so.
