CHAPTER TEN

GOOD OR EVIL

Darcey, Kiefer, Josh, Marcella, Logan, Zac, Anthony, Rick, and Lynnzae sat in a circle. "Where is Cole?" Josh asked.

"I don't know," Lynnzae shrugged. "He disappeared last night," she sighed. "Okay the reason I called you all together because we need to have a vote. Alyson. Good or evil?"

Darcey looked up at Kiefer then to Lynnzae. "I say she's evil."

"Evil." Kiefer said as he held Darcey's hand.

"She seems nice to me. Good," Marcella said

"Good," Rick said looking uncomfortable.

Josh shook his head. "Evil all the way."

"Evil." Zac had a grim look on his face as he touched his arm.

"Good." Logan looked at Anthony

"Good. Sorry D.J." Anthony looked at the floor as he spoke.

"Then it's a tie." Lynnzae stood

"What about your vote?" Darcey asked.

"I'm queen I can't be one sided."

"Oh my god I can't believe this! She tried to tell you Kiefer attacked you!" Darcey stood ripping her hand out of Kiefer's. "And now you're not gonna vote! Ugh. Just forget it! And you were supposed to be on my side, Ant!" she pointed to her little brother. Then she stormed out of the room.

"Awe, Darcey." Kiefer followed. "I'm glad you can't control weather! We'd all be dead then!"

Everyone laughed then Lynnzae walked to the door of the cabin. Most people were still training. Others were eating and talking. But none of them were Cole. She wanted to talk to him more than ever. "You really did good kiddo." Josh hugged her from behind. He sounded happy.

"Josh I'm going to be twenty soon." Lynnzae whispered. "I'm scared."

"Why Lynns?"

"Full power. For once I don't know what will happen."

"Lynns I was never like you so I don't know that fear. But as your guardian angel I'll always help you." He sighed then dropped his voice. "No matter what I'll always love you."

"J.C. I- " Lynnzae spotted Cole and he was limping. "I'll be back." She ran to Cole. "Cole?"

"Oh, hey Lynnzae." He had a black eye and a cut on his cheek.

"Oh my god what happened?"

"Just a little fight between brothers." Cole sat on a nearby rock. "I'll be fine."

"Cole honey, wait here." Lynnzae ran and got the first aid kit out of the jet. She ran back to Cole. He didn't move an inch. He sat quiet. "Okay hold still." Lynnzae rubbed the cut on his cheek with rubbing alcohol. He flinched but did not say a word. "You okay?" Lynnzae leaned closer.

He looked up. His eyes were silver which with him meant he was in pain. "Yeah, will you just heal me?"

"How? My powers never work on you."

Cole put Lynnzae's hand on his cheek. "Believe in yourself like I believe in you." Cole closed his eyes as he held back his tears. "Please try I'm in so much pain. Please?"

Lynnzae sighed and closed her eyes. All she wanted to do was take his pain away. She thought about how he looked before with smooth skin. "Heal," she said. There was a surge of power that went through her. It entered Cole's cheek. She heard him inhale sharply. The pain hit her, too. When healing others you get to feel what they feel, but it fades fast. Her eyes flung up. "Whoa!" Lynnzae smiled. "It worked." His eyes were blue again. And he no longer held his side.
