'We were just friends'

Why did this happen?

Dan's POV
My eyes are flickering. I find myself being pushed into a room. "Ok guys this is Daniel Middleton, he has suffered injuries to his left arm and back of his head which were sustained by a rock being thrown at him and he's been given 2 mg of morphine on the way in" (Can you tell I watch too much casualty) I vaguely hear the paramedic say. "Ok Daniel, you're in hospital and we're gonna take good care of you, can you tell me what hurts the most?" A different person asks. Hmmm I dunno maybe the things that have blood coming out!? Obviously I don't say this and lamely come out with "my arm and head" "ok we're going to wrap this wound on your arm up until it can be stitched and get a CT to scan your head." I nod my head anxiously. I am left in a room with two other patients and three nurses carefully monitoring us. Soon after, another nurse comes in with dressing to wrap my wound up. WAIT. Where's Jemma? Did anything happen to her? Wait she was in the ambulance with me. I think she was fine. I really can't remember. "Excuse me, did a girl come in with me?" I ask quietly. "I can find out for you but you need to stay here" A nurse replies. So I do, I lay there in the hospital until I'm taken to my CT and X-ray. No more then 10 minutes after being checked over a person rushes into the room to my bed. I look up to see a beautiful girl with brown hair. It's Jemma. She's ok! Thank goodness. Jemma carefully puts her arm around my neck to hug me. "I'm so glad you're ok, you had me so worried for a few minutes. I called your mum and she'll be here soon. Oh are you feeling ok?" Jemma let's out in a frenzy of panic. "I'm fine Jem. Are you ok?" I reply to reassure her worries. A look of confusion shadows onto her face. "Yeah I'm fine. You're the one that got hit trying to protect me. Thanks for that by the way. I love you" Jemma declares. "I love you too." I reply. After a few minutes of talking to Jemma, my mum rushes in. Oh jeez. I think my mums gonna be ten times worse then Jemma was. God knows what will happen....
