The Ritual

The ritual chamber that Harry entered was very dark with the only source of light from the black candles arranged to surround the chalk drawn circle in the middle of the room. Behind him the door slammed shut, making his thoughts of a swift escape no longer an option. The air was heavy with magic making it somewhat difficult for breathing. Harry slowly made his way to the circle, stepping over the many candles and made sure that he didn't accidentally catch himself on fire. Once fully inside the circle he made his way to the center and slowly knelt down.

Immediately after he was in place the fire from candles that surrounded him began to grow larger and larger. The flames left the wick that they were once dancing on and instead swirled around the illuminated circle that Harry knelt down in. The flames moved together gaining speed until there was no evidence of them spinning and instead there was just a flame sphere around him. Harry knew that he should have been frightened but he couldn't bring himself to worry. It was almost as if he knew that the fire didn't want to hurt him and that he was going to be just fine.

Shortly after the flames stopped their dance Harry felt an intense pressure in his head. The pressure kept building until Harry slammed his eyes shut and held his head in pain. The pressure only continued to grow. 'If it doesn't stop now, I fear that my head will explode.' Was the only coherent thought that the young wizard could manage.

But even as his pressure grew his head remained where it was and very much intact. Then, when Harry felt as if he was going to pass of from the intense pain the pressure in his head became so sharp that he screamed out in agony. The mind-shattering pain only lasted for a few seconds more and then it all completely disappeared.

Ever so slowly, Harry came back to himself. He noticed that the flame sphere was still there. 'The ritual must not be over yet then.' That thought send a wave of fear through Harry. He wasn't sure if he would be able to survive another bout of pain so intense. 'Well let's get this over with.' And with that he wiped the blood that was coming from his nose and mentally prepared himself for the pain that would soon come. 'If I could defeat a dark lord then I can definitely survive a cleansing ritual.'

The fire in the sphere slowly began to change white. And what came next Harry was surprised that he survived. The pain he felt was unlike anything he had ever experienced and after enduring ten seconds of it his vision faded to black and he was swept away into the beautiful thing that was unconsciousness.

Felix stood looking at the morbid sight that was a demon door. 'I should have warned him how horrible the rituals would be if there are any spells on him. Well too late now. I guess he'll just have to forgive me.' He turned and faced the goblin. "You felt it, too right? The number of spells that he had on him?" The moment Felix had met Harry he knew he would have to bring Harry to get the spells removed.

The goblins face turned sour, "Aye, it's amazing the child can even do any magic at all, let alone take down a dark lord. After the spells are removed, I believe the young lord will be extremely strong. He will do very well at your school."

Felix then asked the question he himself had been pondering, "Do you think that Dumbledore knew of the spells placed on the boy?"

"Even worse, I fear he may be the one who placed them on the child."

The thought disturbed Felix. "But why would someone do such a thing to an innocent child?"

With a dark look the goblin responded, "Why would a master want for their puppet to be stronger than them? The old fool probably didn't want a repeat of what happened the heir of Slytherin so he bound the child's magic. And if I'm not mistaken, there is also a spell placed on his growth. That poor boy must be in so much pain right now. And for what? Power?" The goblin shook his head at the stupidity that was the wizarding world.

Felix was shocked the goblin seemed to speak of the young boy in such a friendly tone. Most goblins wanted very little to do with wizards. Felix voiced what he was thinking and the goblin answered, "Did you know that Griphook's wife was pregnant? It is extremely rare for goblins and when it happens, we all celebrate for many months. While we were all gathered a snowy white owl came swooping down and dropped a letter and a package for Griphook. We were all surprised to see that the young Potter had sent him a letter not only thanking him for his service but also congratulating him on the baby. And inside the package was a soft baby blanket. Even though we goblins have very little to do with such comforts, Griphook was very thankful for the gift. And that Sir, is the reason Lord Harry James Potter will always have the support of the goblins."

Felix stood there in absolute shock. He had never heard of anyone, may it be creature or human, having the support of the goblins. Just as he was about to speak the demon door swung open and there stood a very different looking Harry.

His hair was much longer and neater it flowed gracefully down to the small of his back. His nose was perfectly straight and slightly turned up and his lips were plump and held a perfect shade of petal pink many women dreamed of. Harry was taller too, he had to be at least six-foot and his muscles were now very prominent making his once loose shirt cling to him like a second skin.

His jade green eyes glowed with powerful magic as he looked at them from the open door. Felix couldn't help the shiver that went through his body as the newly power filled wizard looked at him, peering into his soul and looking at his worth. When Harry spoke, his voice was deeper and seemed to captivate anyone who would hear it. "Shall we move on to the lordship paperwork?" With a shaky nod Felix squared his shoulders and stood up straighter.

"Let us go get started." Was all that the vampire could say after getting over his shock.
