Becoming Lord Potter

Slowly the odd trio walked through the long hall. Harry stumbled, his body sore from the immense pain it had been in minutes before. But he kept his face blank and refused to show any sign of weakness in front of the goblin or his soon-to-be teacher. But he ached, Merlin did he ache. His whole body felt like little needles were stabbing him repeatedly.

After a few minutes of walking they finally stopped by a plain looking door. Harry felt relieved. 'Thank Merlin it's not another demon door.' The goblin pulled out a strange key and stuck it into the keyhole.

Inside the office was simple and didn't have much in terms of furniture. The office only consisted of a small desk with an office chair behind it, and two small chairs crammed in front. Everything inside the office was made from pine wood and the smell from the wood was heavy in the air. It was refreshing. The smell made Harry feel like he was in a forest surrounded by huge pine trees.

The goblin took his seat behind the desk, "Please have a seat and let us get started." Once the young wizard and the vampire were seated the goblin pulled out a stack of papers. "Mister Potter, since the will of both your parents and that of you godfather were sealed I feel that it is only appropriate that we unseal them now that you are of age. Is this acceptable?"

Harry didn't need very long to ponder over what he wanted to do. And with a nod they got started. The first will that they went over was his parents. Harry was surprised to know not only was he now very very wealthy but his parents also clearly stated that he was to never go to the Dursleys under any circumstances. This meant that not only had Dumbledore not listened to their will but he went against it. After the reading of his parents will the goblin had Harry drop a bit of blood on a parchment and then handing him the Potter and Peverell family ring. He was now Lord Potter-Peverell.

When the goblin finished with Sirius's will Harry was absolutely flabbergasted. Not only was he Lord Potter-Peverell but his godfather had named him an heir to the Black's fortune making him also Lord Black. And with the Black ring Harry also got control of all the family vaults. 'Just how much has the light side been hiding from me?'

Once the paperwork was finished the goblin had one last thing for the young lord to do. "Since you will be attending Veritas Lux Mea, I need for you to put a drop of blood onto this sheet of paper. It will tell us just what classes you will be able to take."

As the drop of blood fell from Harry's hand and hit the paper words started to appear.

Healing Magic: 7/10

Blood Magic: 8/10

Necromancy: 9/10

Dark Arts: 6/10

Elements: 7/10

After seeing the results, Felix gasped in shock. "But how could he be able to have such a high rating in Necromancy and Blood magic?! He is just human! I have never seen results quite like this." The vampire then turned and examined Harry as if trying to see if he was truly just human.

The goblin's eyes were also wide with surprise but he quickly schooled his features and looked at the vampire. "You know as well as I do, blood never lies. If this paper says his magic is compatible to do Necromancy and Blood magic then he is."

"But he is just human! Surely the second that he tries to do any Blood magic or Necromancy his magic core would reject it."

Harry sat there patiently listening to the goblin and vampire argue over what his magic could and couldn't do. But after listening to the two go back and forth Harry was beginning to get sick of them talking as if he was not there. "I will take the Blood and Necromancy classes. I want to be treated as everyone else who takes them. I am sick of people telling me what I can and cannot do. I have grown weary of listening to you two bickering over whether a human could take these classes. If the paper says that I am compatible, then I am!"

The arguing stopped and both creatures looked at Harry stunned. Felix was the first to get over his surprise. "But Harry, you must understand, these subjects are dangerous to even creatures! A human even attempting them is unheard of!"

"It is my decision to make, not yours. If I choose to take these classes then you have no say in it." And with that, the argument was over.

The goblin now looked at Harry with a new kind of respect. 'We will see great things from you Lord Potter.'

The vampire did not seem to want to give in, "Harry, please understand, you are just a human! Humans can't do Blood Magic let alone Necromancy!"

Harry turned his head and looked at the goblin, "If this paper tells me I can take a class, can he forbid me from taking it?" The vampire continued to protest but both Harry and the goblin ignored him.

"No. If this sheet says you are able to take this class then even the headmistress can't stop you from taking it."

"Very well, how many classes can I take at one time?"

The goblin sat in thought for a second before replying, "Most usually take four to six classes, and Necromancy cannot be taken until after your second year of Blood Magic, but keep in mind Lord Potter that the other students are creatures and most of them need little to no sleep to function."

"Are these the only classes that the school offers?"

This time instead of the goblin replying it was Felix, "No, our school also overs Mind magic, Teleportation classes, Rituals, and a verity of others. Most of which cannot be taken if you are in your first year."

Harry sat still for a moment debating his choices. " I think that I will take five classes." Harry held up a hand stopping the vampire from objecting. "If I need more help with the subjects I am sure that I will be able to find a suitable tutor. I want to take Healing magic, Blood magic," he glared at Felix to stop him from talking, "Dark arts, Elements and I would also like to take Mind magic."

Sitting up in his chair the goblin stared at the young lord for quite some time. "You do understand, Lord Potter, five classes are a very heavy workload."

"And that is my decision to make. If it becomes too much for me I'll be sure to let you know you were right." Harry's voice was hard and his mind was set. He was very much ready for a challenge.
