Sofia could only stare at this man in horror. The end of the beginning? what did he mean?Oh, so many questions and so many undiscovered secrets....
"Sofia, I really need you to remain calm and just play along, things are about to take a very wrong turn...." Someone whispered in her mind
"Yasmin, is that you? Wait how are you talking in my head?" Sofia tried to talk through her mind and hoping that Yasmine could hear her.
"You wield the element of spirit and all things related to it, that's how we can speak through our mind silly! It's one of your powers" said Yasmin chuckling softly.
"Oh, wow, cool but what now?" Asked Sofia as panic tried to strangle her.
"Just watch and play along and I'll explain later" and with that Yasmin was gone.
Sofia turned her attention back to her companions and sighed in relief when she saw that they weren't struggling anymore. But gasped when their eyes flew open. Their eyes, oh my god their eyes! They were lifeless, as if they were controlled by someone.
Sirak turned to her and gave her a demonic grin. "Your companions, they fought hard, very hard indeed against my mind control but alas, look at them now!"
Sofia fought frantically against her captor and searched their eyes. Nothing, there was nothing! No speck of hope or courage, just empty, void of any human emotions. Their eyes just terrified her and she wanted to escape so badly from this place.
Sirak continued on with his victorious speech. Sofia gritted her teeth as she was forced to listen to his inhuman voice, "Your companions do as I tell them to do, and there is nothing, NOTHING, you can do to stop me, you puny princess!"
Sabina started cackling like a witch and her father shushed her. Sofia couldn't believe it, her family and her beloved friends were controlled by this crazy follower of Vultan? Oh god, things did take a very wrong turn here!
At that moment several guards ran in. Sofia almost sighed in relief but dreaded it as soon as Sabina showed them their mark. The guards went still as a statue, they straightened up, and stood in a marching order. Eyes lifeless as a dead man just like what happened to her friends and family.
"Noooo!" Sofia screamed as she started thrashing and struggling with Sabina. She kneed her in the gut and that knocked the breath out of Sabina, Sabina stumbled back as Sofia took her escape opportunity.
She would have already dashed out the doors if it weren't for Adrian. He held her arm tightly which caused Sofia to gasp in pain. How he caught her so fast, she had no idea but then she stared into his lifeless eyes. "Oh Adrian, what did he do to you?"
Adrian held his steady gaze on her and dragged her over to Sirak. Sirak pointed his long bony finger accusingly at her and said, "Take this one to the dungeon, I have a ball to arrange!"
