*Harriet's P.O.V*
I had been out of hospital for two days now. I had been given the command to take regular doses of pain killers and, as I was staying at Sam's house because Austin had to work long hours, Sam was acting as a doctor to make sure I was actually taking them and making a speedy recovery. His stitches had now been taken out and, although there was a bit of a scar, but it was hidden by his hair. It didn't seem to phase him. He just saw it as a battle scar. Aw bless haha. It was 9:30 am when I woke up and, although Sam didn't like it, I sat up, picked up my crutches and stumbled into the kitchen.
"Howdy y'all" I laughed as I walked in.
"Oi, you should be in bed resting!" Sam said to me whilst walking over but he couldn't keep a straight face. I was wearing his t-shirt, which was miles too big for me, and underwear. I didn't care what Sam saw me in. After all, he was like a brother to me. He wore a white baseball top with dark blue sleeves and jeans.
He put one arm around the back of my shoulders and one underneath my legs to pick me up in a baby cradle position and sit me on the counter.
"Ouch, mind out for the broken bits," I said cheeky like. He giggled as he put me down on the counter.
"There my princess, what would me'lady like to eat for breakfast? I'm thinking pancakes with berries?" He winked.
"Ahh Sammy baby you know me wayyyy too well ahaha."
And Sam got away to cooking right away. He rushed around the kitchen like a busy little elf making toys for Santa. Bless him, eh was so darn sweet. My gaze was distracted by my phone bleeping. I unlocked it and scrolled through my messages to find the most recent one. It was from Kian. I hadn't really replied to his messages since I saw him in the hospital a week ago. Thanks to him breaking up with me, I hadn't seen JC since that day and I missed him. The message read:
"Harriet please reply to my messages. I regret losing you. It was the biggest mistake I have ever made and I cant live without you. I constantly think about you and i'm miserable. Let me come around and see you. Please. I want you back. I love you Harriet... I love you!"
I sighed and put my phone down. I did still like Kian, I don't know if love was the correct word to use but I was still crazy about him, but he hurt me so badly that I didn't know if I was ready to see him again.
I looked up to see Sam standing two inches away with a geeky smile on his face and a plate of pancakes in his hand. I laughed and took the pancakes and put them on the counter next to me, then pulled him into a tight hug.
"Thank you Sammy!!" I said in a baby voice. "I wuv woo!"
He then pulled out of the hug and looked at me with a serious face. "I love you" he said, then moved his hand to cup my face and pulled me close to him. My heart started racing as he closed his eyes, drew my closer to him and pressed his lips against mine. My mind was going mental with mixed thoughts and I restrained myself from kissing him back, but that didn't last and soon our lips were moving in perfect motion moving together and apart from each other. I knew it was wrong. I know that it shouldn't of happened. But, it felt so good.
After a long kiss, we both pulled back and rested our foreheads together. Our breathing got heavy and he ran his thumb across my cheek stroking it. "That was wrong Sam. It shouldn't of happen." I whispered. Truth was, it felt amazing, but he was too much like a brother, it wasn't right.
"I know," he replied "but it felt so good. I'm sorry, I had to kiss you. I'm mental about you. But your right, just friends. I'm cool with that." and after saying that, he took a deep breath and took a step backwards. "Now, a princess must eat their breakfast other wise she will not recover so...E A T!" he said. I loved how Sam could lighten the mood up so quickly. It prevented any awkward tension. He truly was amazing.
"So, Sammy, I need to get out of this house! Where are you taking me today my prince?" I asked between taking mouthfuls of pancakes. He sure was am amazing cook.
"Actually, I've invited a few friends over, you know, JC, Corey, Jarrad, Eric, Sophia and erm..."
" Omg Sophia?! I haven't seen her in ages!" I was so happy she was coming around. She was my best girl friend. I had known her since before I moved to California because she used to live in New York, not far from us. I played with her as a kid but lost contact when she moved. I was thrilled when I saw her soon after I moved.
"Yeah she is," Sam said "and...erm...Kians coming round..." I didn't know what to say...
