Chapter 7

After Rowen shared that news with me, she fell asleep almost instantly. I on the other hand wasn’t so lucky. I kept tossing and turning thinking how desperately I needed to talk to everyone back home. Have  my mother comfort all my worries of whatever the hell was going on. Sasha scolding me for kissing Logan after knowing next to nothing about him. Jayden praising me for kissing him and asking for every detail. Even fighting with Jason over some small issue.

But they aren’t here, so I will have to make do with myself.

After hours of staring at the blackness above my head, my eyes began to droop a little. I was glad that I may be able to have dreams of home, back before I knew anything about werewolves. But when my dreams came, they weren't of home. I didn't dream of anything, but before I slipped into oblivion, I still felt the lingering of Logan’s kiss.

___

I woke up to the sound of someone banging on the door and calling my name to get up for breakfast. Annoyed, I called back, "Go away Jason. Let me sleep for a little longer." I never understood why he insisted on waking me up so early every morning.

I pulled my sheets above my head hoping that if I am buried enough, he will just give up. However my attempt fails and I hear the door open and the pounding of shoes on the ground as they approach me, then taking a spot on the bed beside me.

Still under my covers and half-asleep, I say again, "Jason I told you I need to sleep..."

"I'm not Jason," says an amused voice and suddenly I freeze. My eyes flutter open and The event of the past days hit me.

I am not home in my bed being woken up by Jason. I am in some mansion with werewolves. And if that isn't Jason on my bed trying to wake me up then...

I whip the sheet of my head and turn to face a smiling Damian. His face is almost as bright as his hair with the light of the new morning falling on it. And defiantly looking very attractive with him only a couple of feet from me on my bed.

Suddenly very self conscious of myself, I move away to very edge of the bed trying to get my hair under control.

My reaction to his presence only widens his smile. I glare back knowing I look like an idiot. "Why are you in my room?" I ask.

"Well good morning to you too" he says back, and then looks at me obviously waiting for a response.

I sigh. There is no point in getting all flustered. It's better that Damian saw me like this rather than certain other people. "Good morning Damian."

His smile is so warm that it is impossible not to return it. "Ok now why are you here" I say more kindly this time.

"I am here to summon you to breakfast. So get ready and meet me outside in the hallway."

I nod and we both get up. I head to the bathroom while Damian goes out the door, closing it behind him.

I take a quick shower, get dressed in jeans and a red long-sleeve shirt, and do my hair and makeup.

When I am all finished I walk into the hallway. It still is hard to get use to the Victorian style that is so elegant yet bold with the mix of rich colors. But still with all this color my eyes instantly go to Damian, who has taken a spot on one of the velvet chairs.

He leads the way to the kitchen, weaving his way through the hallways that all look the same to me. On the way we make small talk.

"So how did you sleep?" He asks/

"Oh good" I lie. "The bed was really comfy.

Damian nods but I know he didn't believe it. I am an awful liar, even small ones. It was a characteristic my friends and family always pointed out to me every time I tried to lie.
