Chapter 8

I woke up from my nap. My eyes feel like sleeping again but my brain wants to be awake. I get off from my bed. My purple and aqua hair messy. I go out of the guest room and headed to the living room. Daddy was on a phone with someone. "I'm heading to a bar. No no I'll come back. I just need a motherly figure for Abby. So you'll do it? Great come here at like, 5 or 6. Bye" said daddy as he hung up his phone. I just stared at daddy. Tears were about to fall. He's going to leave me. "D-Daddy...?" I said as tears were pouring down. Daddy turned to me. "Hey hey..." said daddy as he walked up to me and picked me up. Gillian got up and went to his room. "Don't leave please daddy. I love you." I cried as I held onto daddy for dear life. "I'll be back. Someone's going to watch you while I'm gone." Said daddy as he rocked me. "Can I come?" Daddy chuckled. "No, it's for grown ups only." I just cried more. What if daddy's not going to come back? What if he dies? What if someone tries to kidnap him? I hugged daddy for dear life. Daddy patted my back and sat down.

Sang daddy as he comforts me. I calmed down and loosened my grip on daddy. "Daddy." I said. "Yes maple?" Replied daddy. "I love you." I said as I hugged daddy around his torso. Daddy stayed silent. I looked up at daddy. He's spacing out. Does he not love me? "Daddy?" I said again. Daddy snapped out of it. "Oh, sorry; I spaced out." Replied daddy as he gave a small smile. I smiled back and laid my head on his chest. Suddenly, the door knocked. "Let daddy get up." Said daddy as I got off. He put on his flannel and opened the door. At the door was a man. He was very tall and wears dark clothing. He had hair like Al but it was down and looked greasy. He has black around his red eyes. He looked very scary. I hid behind daddy's leg. "Hey Viktor." Daddy said as he let him in. What seems to be Viktor walked inside. "Gillian, come on let's go." Said daddy. I kept hiding behind daddy's legs. Daddy picked me up. "Abby, this is Viktor he's going to watch you while I go to the bar." Said daddy as he placed me on the couch. Gillian came out. "Bye daddy." I said as daddy and Gillian left. Me and Viktor sat on the couch for a while in silence. This is awkward.
