Different?like We Care!

last night on earth part 2

(The day nick ran into the hospital)

When he opened that door,the first thing he saw...the same thing that crushed him inside was an empty bed...with a clipboard on it
His legs felt shaky as he walked toward the bed picking up the clipboard when he did
"J-jody hoops..time of d-death..3..27..am" nick chocked out as tear rolled down his face
His legs gave way as he collapsed to his knees crying on the bed,he dag his claws into the sheets as all of his emotions came flooding out
He screemed into the sheets as memorys of judy went through his mind..from the day they met to just a day befor this incident
Bogo walked in moments later unable to help the fox in anyway,he could see losing her destroyed him in more ways then one
He decided to leave the room,so nick could be alone

"Im sorry.....i-im so sorry judy..." nick cryed into the sheets
"I shouldn't have taken you along whith me...i should have paided more attention to the road...i-i...."
He looked up as if hoping to see judy in the bed looking back at him about to say something to make him smile..like she always does
But his luck ran out along time ago,or did it?
When nick looked up he noticed something,it was very small but he could still see it,a small stain on the sheet near the pillow
He walked to it and examined it,something was amiss with the smell and the colour
The stain had dryed up already but was still recent,he used his claw to rip the piece of fabric out and but it into a plastic sleeve
"Somethings not right here"
He began to examine the room more closely trying to find anything else,and that he did
A small strand of fur was caught in between some of the wires of the heart rate machine
He examined it closer
"Red fur?...maby fox?cant be mine i never came near this machine"
He too the strand and put it into a bag
'Something is definitely not right,you cant just die in acoma unless you're in it for too long,and judy was only in it for a few weeks'
He tryed to search the room more but chief bogo came in
"Nick...i..i uh..im sorry for your loss i guess"
Nick looked away from bogo
"Thanks..cheif"
He pushed past the cheif and went to the front desk
The lamb there looked up at him in suprise
"O-oh hello sir,uh how may i help you?"
Nick put up a fake smile
"Hi,my name is nick wide from the zpd and im on a uh a case?"
The lambs eyes widened alittle
"Oh really?well in that case officer what can i do to help?"
"Well i was woundering if any foxs work at this hospital like as a doctor or nurse"
The lamb looked down at her computer and began to scroll
"One moment"
It wasent long befor she looked up at nick once more
"Nope,none but our janitor here is a fox,uh drake i think his name was,is he.....is he in some sort of trouble?"
Nick hesitated
"N-no,i just want to ask some...questions"
"Well okay then"
Nick sighed finally able to let the smile drop as he walked down the passage and searched for this janitor guy
After a couple minutes of searching nick finally found him on the far east wing of the hospital cleaning the floors
'Not meny people come down this way' nick thought as he slowly walked down the passage towards the fox
'Red fur..' nick thought looking at him
"Mister drake" nick said bitterly
The fox looked up at him,his eyes heavily from lack of sleep
He examined nick,a nervous look on his face
"Y-yes" he stuttered out
Nick noticed his nervous behaviour and took note
"I need to ask you some questions"
The foxs eyes widened slightly
"W-why!?i-i haven't done anything wrong!"
"I never said you did drake,did you do something wrong" nick looked the fox in the eye
He began to shake alittle
"N-no i haven't"
"Then why are you so nervous?" Nick narrowed his eyes
Drake bit his lip
"I-its because your intimidating me!"
Nick shook his head
"Im doing no such thing,now ill like you to awnser my question"
The foxy clenched his fist
"And that i-is?"
"Where you in the medical room of judy hopps 3am this morning"
