Chapter Two: It Blossoms

His eyes bore down into mine turning a red color as he pushed me into the car harder. "You obviously don't know who you're dealing with little girl." He whispered into my ear. I shuddered underneath him as I felt my skin turn ablaze and his eyes went wide. "Ohh this is even better than I could ever hope for."

I look at him with rage in my eyes. "What the hell do you mean?"

He smiles and steps away gesturing to me. "Look at yourself princess. You're all..how do I put it... a flame."

I look down at myself and see that I am covered in flames and, as far as I can tell, I am covered from head to toe. "What is happening to me!?" I yell at him.

"Well from the look of it you have powers that were hidden so deeply that they didn't show until just now. In these circumstances, you were either really really angry at me, or really turned on." Shadow said smirking at me. ?

"Tatiana?? My perfect nurse where are you? I would like to thank you for bringing in those two patients, they are more than perfect for our purpose. But where's the other one? He sounds like an interesting fella." Dr. Dino yelled from the opening of Brinklin. I started panicking as I looked at Shadow who smiled wider.

"Princess." he purred. "You need to calm down if you don't want the doctor to find you in this state. Your flames have turned blue, suggesting you're worried. Take a deep breath. If you don't calm down you might be taken in as a patient instead of a nurse."

"I'm trying to calm down! In a situation like th...." I started to reply but was cut short as Shadow leaned in and kissed me. I could feel myself calming down and with it, the flames were vanishing.

"Tatiana!! I never took you as one to fall for someone like Shadow... however, this might just work in my favor." The doctor said looking towards me.

My face was burning up and I smiled down at my feet. "I apologize for this sudden behavior, sir. I had met this man earlier today on my way to my car. I h-had no idea he was a patient."

"No need to apologize. I actually would like to ask you if you'd like a promotion." Dr. Dinos replied.

"A-a promotion!? B-but I kissed a patient!!"

"Oh yes well, this promotion is to train the patients to become staff, but not nursing staff more like capturing others like them staff."

Shadow smiled at me and nudged my arm. "You can start with me princess," he said as his armor retracted back into his skin. "I could be of help training the patients, or staff, that are new to having powers. Now wouldn't that be fun?"

I glared at him and sighed. "I guess starting with you wouldn't be so bad."

Dr. Dinos clapped his hands obviously very pleased with himself. "In that case come inside. I would like  to start as soon as possible." He turned away and walked inside. I walked after him slowly. At least he didn't fire me or have me killed for that stunt. More importantly, at least he didn't see that I had abilities. I just hope I can keep them under control now that they have surfaced. 

"Psst princess, whatever you're thinking about, stop thinking about it. You might burn the place down." Shadow whispered. I looked down at my hands and my fingertips were in fact covered with blue flames. 

"Well, at least this time its only my fingers." I hissed back in annoyance. 

He reached down and grabbed my hand. "Just calm down. I'll teach you how to control it later." I nodded and we followed the doctor into a part of the Asylum I've never been to. There were so many different rooms, filled with different equipment. We walked into a bigger room with targets and walls made of different materials and the doctor grinned at me. 

"You'll start here. Tatiana, do you remember when I gave you your first exam here? I gave you a shot and told you it'd keep you from catching certain viruses?" 

"Y..yeah."

"Well, it wasn't. Do you really think I didn't notice your hair flaming up in the parking lot? My dear you weren't just a flame, you were also floating. Shadow did make an effort to make sure you calmed down. But it looks like your fingers are still reacting a little bit to the situation. That shot I gave you when you first started here at Brinklin was a serum to help bring  out the deepest darkest parts in you." He paused, obviously remembering something. "I was so annoyed at the fact that you didn't become angered or rude with anyone. You didn't become depressed by anything at all. But, I also knew that meant you had something deeper inside that wanted so badly to surface." 

I stared at him in complete disbelief. "So the reason I have abilities is because of that nasty shot you gave me!?"

"Yes, dear. It's weird though as it only brought abilities out of you." He smirked. "The sad part is that Shadow had to be apart of all of this to get your powers to surface."
