I slide my phone back into my pocket. My head is spinning still processing what I just heard. I walk back to the boys. Bradly is climbing back over the fence, leaving behind the battleground of sliced fruit.

The sun is starting to set and the night is still young. Half of the boys go home leaving us with the original four plus me. We head inside Mavericks shack thing and hang out playing video games and jamming out to music.

Sometime later that night Tanner and I went to one of the guest rooms in the main house because we were too tired to drive home. My deep sleep brought me into a very vivid dream.

"How was the break?" Benny asked as we walked into the school together.

"It was good. I went to see my dad and shovelled three feet of snow. Like every spring break." We both laugh as we walk into the library and up to Dan and Krystal.

"How was seeing your dad?" Benny sits next to Krys across the table while I sat next to Dan.

"You went to see Dad? How is he doing?" Krys asks. Krys and I call each other's parents like we would if they're our own.

"About the same. Mum is talking to a doctor in California."

"Hey, Babe." A pair of hands rests on my shoulders as I felt a kiss planted on the cheek. I stand up and give the person behind me a hug.

"Hello, Shane," I say sweetly and give him a kiss on the lips. Shane nods to the hall. "I'll be right back," I tell my best friends then walk out with Shane to the hall.

"So... are you up to hanging out tonight?" His hands find their way to the small of my back right above my ass.

"Yeah. My mum is gone so we can hang out at my house." He nods in agreement.

"ALL SOPHOMORES REPORT IT THE AUDITORIUM." The intercom yells over the school.

"I wonder what they have planned for us this time."

"Have fun at that, pipsqueak." He chuckles to himself.

"Hey! Just because I'm a sophomore, doesn't mean I'm a pipsqueak. Plus you're only a senior, two years difference doesn't make me a pipsqueak."

"Yeah, yeah" Shane presses his lips to mine then walked away, leaving me in the hall alone.

I don't even remember the rest of the day, it was all a blur but that's how most first days back are.

I'm all cuddled up in Shane's arms on the downstairs couch watching a movie.

"Your mum is not going to be back tonight, right?" Shane's sudden question snaps me out of movieland, aka, Star Wars.

"Um, yeah. Why?" I raise an eyebrow at him.

"So I can do this." Shane smashes his lips into mine. At first I though it was a normal makeout session but it soon turned into something more. I was too into the kiss and didn't even notice he picked me up and brought me to my bed.

The whole experience that was to follow was uncomfortable and weird. Maybe because it was my first time. I always thought there was suppose to be a something special or magical like how most people describe their first.

It's the next day. I don't feel the same as I did yesterday. Is this what it's supposed to feel like afterwards? The mummers from the inside of the school made me feel even worst. I walk to Shane's table since that seems to be where everyone is. I find my way to the table through the crowd of students.
