William's POV
"Where exactly are we?" I say with a chuckle. We've been walking side by side for a while now down a long trail at a local park by my house.
"We are almost there." She says with a wide smile on her face.
"Are you secretly gonna murder me?" I say and she nudges my shoulder which makes me freeze from her electric touch.
"Yeah. I'm one of those gorgeous homicidal maniacs that seduces you." She says while continuing on. I stare at her and think to myself that even if she was a homicidal maniac and she were to kill me, I would still love her to death.
"Welcome to my palace." She said while widening her arms to show how grand it was. An abandoned playground was her palace and I wondered to myself as she walked over to the rickety swings, how did grace find this place and why did she need to find this place? Why was this her palace when she had a beautiful mansion awaiting her arrival.
She sat on the swing and I sat down on the bench next to the set. She swung back and formers slowly before speaking through the thin, cold air.
"I found out about this place when I was eleven. I came here with my oldest sister. She used to come here and sit by herself until late at night sometimes and come home around 10 at night. I always wondered what she would do here." She said while staring at the grass covering the ground.
"Thank you for taking me here." I say and she looks at me with her dazzling blue eyes.
"We've gone to school for 12 years now and we've never talked once. Why is that?" She asks with a laugh.
"I'm just socially awkward." I say and she rolls her eyes while grinning because she knows that's a lie.
...
The sun began to hang lower within the sky as we finally got back to the car. I opened up her door once more, being the gentleman I am and I rushed to my side. I got in and turned on the heat to warm her up. I watch her pale skin grow goosebumps and her body shiver slightly. She stares out the window and doesn't make eye contact with me.
"So should I take you home?" I say quietly and she looks at me.
"Yeah. I guess I should get home." She blushes and on our way we go. She directs me back over to Highland Park where she and all of the other rich people live. I live just outside of the gated community which signals that I'm technically rich but just not rich enough to own a $4.5 million dollar house. I pull up to her house and put my car in park before getting out and opening up her door for her.
"Thanks for everything William." She says kindly and I shut the passenger door as she walks up her driveway. I rush to catch up to her and for a while we stand on the porch once we get there.
"I had a nice time with you." I say while staring into her eyes. She blushes lightly and she embraces me in a hug.
"I had a great time with you too." She whispers into my ear and a shiver sends through my body. My arms wrap around her and I hold her tightly as if she would float away once I let go.
"Do you mind if I get your number?" I say nonchalantly, immediately regretting the question after I finished the question. She laughs and puts her hand out as a signal for my phone.
I unlock it for her and get to my contacts and she types her number in and hands me back my phone. I smile at the smooth move working and I slide my phone into its previous spot in my back pocket.
"Goodnight William. Text me later okay?" She says to me with a smirk. I nod and laugh signaling to her that I will and she places a delicate kiss to my cheek before leaving me to my thoughts on her porch.
...
I turn off my tv and plug my phone in so that it can charge while I get some rest tonight. I look at my phone and think about Grace. I make the split decision and open up my messages to text her.
To: Grace
Hey I just wanted to say that I had a great night with you and I hope you have a good night sleep tonight.I send the text and set my phone down. I look up to the ceiling and reminisce on the day I've had before my phone vibrates. I eagerly pick it up and see who the text is from.
