William's POV

I parked in an open spot that was closest to the front doors of the school. I rushed out of the car and walked over to Grace's side where I opened up the door for her. She thanked me by giving me a slight nod with her head before grabbing her bag.

I closed her door, grabbed my bag and then made my way to her side. We walked slowly to the front doors and made small talk.

"So do you just wanna catch rides with me from now on?" I say, trying to sound casual and not eager.

"Yeah, honestly that would be great. I usually catch rides with people anyway." She says back with a smile.

"I don't mean to seem rude but why don't you get your drivers license?" I say with a chuckle.

"I've never seen the use of having one because I don't want to spend all my money on a car and all of those bills so usually I catch a ride with one of my friends or I take an Uber to school." She say with an embarrassing look on her face as if I would judge her.

"Honesty, that is smart of you because you are saving so much money. Trust me I know. I just spent about $770 on new tires and a new power steering wheel." I say while looking at her and her beautiful appearance. She stands at 5'9 while I'm 6'3 but I bet she fits perfectly in my arms with her curvy figure. She has curves of a goddess while I am as thin as a stick.

We make our way up the steps and as we walk inside the corridors, the whole school stares at the arrival of Grace and I. Grace doesn't really notice and she continues to walk side by side with me until her friends rush over to her and mine follow the same actions. I look at Grace and now realize that she stands about 20 feet away now but she is staring at me. I smile and she smiles back before my friends speak up.

"Dude, are you and Grace a thing?" Chris asks excitedly, hope in his voice.

"No. She just needed a ride this morning so I gave her one." I say while turning to face her once more. If I could, I would stare at her beauty forever. Everything about her was captivating and always takes my breath away.

"Dude! I'm proud of you man! I mean after you and Brice broke up, I never thought that you would recover from her." Little did Chris know that Brice was my first love but when I found out about Grace, I knew she was my soulmate. She was the reason Brice and I split but no one in our friend group ever realized that.

...

I walked to the parking lot once more and felt my phone vibrate once I reached the driver's side door. I pulled out my phone and read that it was from Grace. I smiled and looked around, hoping to see her standing nearby as I opened her message to me.

From: Grace
Hey where do you think you're going? I think you forgot your car buddy. ;)

I laughed at the winky face and her comment about me leaving her here. I thought to myself about what to text back and soon enough I grow the courage to text back something equally playful.

To: Grace
I don't think I have a car buddy. At least not officially yet. ;)

I hit send and then get into my car and start it. I know she's going to be waiting out front soon so I beat her to the front of the school. I park the car and stand out in the brisk air as I wait for my princess to arrive. I watch her gorgeous figure walk out of the large front doors of the school and over to my car. As she grows closer to my car, I notice that a smile is plastered onto her face. I open her door for her like always and once I get into the car she speaks up with her angelic voice.

"Where are we going today?" She says while pulling the seat belt across herself. I stare at her beauty once more and speak up before placing the car into drive.

"It's a surprise." I say with a devilish smirk smeared across my face.

...

"So how do you like it?" I said while taking a bite into the juicy burger that was just delivered from the kitchen of the small diner that I took Grace to. Her bright, white teeth sunk into the burger that she had ordered for herself and her eyes rolled into the back of her head in pure satisfaction.

"This is amazing. No. Beyond amazing. This is indescribable." She says while chewing the bite she still had in her mouth. I nod in agreement and we sat there silently for a while, just enjoying the quiet atmosphere around us.

"How did you find this place?" She asks with a curious tone. Her head is cocked to the side a little like a cute puppy dog and I speak up.

"I was just driving one day. I had had a terrible day because of..well some stuff had happened but I drove by and decided to stop because I was in a dangerous state to be driving and well, I just fell in love with the quiet atmosphere. I honestly don't know how this place stays open because its always so desolate but it's a miracle that this place is here. I guess you could say it's my safe haven when I just want to get away just like how your palace is yours." I say while not making eye contact. I've never necessarily been open with people about my personal life but I knew with Grace that she was the most trustworthy person someone could have in their life.

She unexpectedly grabbed my hand that rested on the table and held my hand solemnly. Her touch was sensational and I couldn't get enough of it. She laced her fingers through mine which mad em look up at her with a surprised look. a smile was covering her face and her top teeth sunk into her bottom lip beautifully. I stared at our hands and enjoyed the moment while it lasted. I always made sure to enjoy her presence when I was with her because who knows when you will have your last day, hour, or minute with someone as beautiful as Grace.
