Emily's PoV

The next day we are all stood talking about how to attack if need be.

"Aro will want us incapacitated before he attacks. Jane and Alec will try and take me out first because I can anticipate their moves," Edward states.

I nod in agreement.

Garrett sighs, "Too bad we don't all have your shield."

Bella shrugs, "Doesn't help me fight, though."

"No, but you could help the rest of us, if you could project it," Tanya states.

"What do you mean?" Bella asks.

I roll my eyes, "she means if you could shield someone other than yourself."

Bella looks at us, "Is that possible?"

Carlisle smiles, "Gifts can be developed. Over time."

Kate nods, "At first, mine was just in my palms. Now I can radiate it all over my body."

"How do you do it?" Bella asks grabbing Kate's hand hard, "tell me."

Kate looks down at her hand, "ow."

I laugh, until Bella glares at me.

We then go outside and try to help Bella expand her shield.

"You need to visualize it. See how it moves. What color it is. Now picture it expanding. Will it to go beyond you," Kate tells her.

I watch as Bella tries, but it's doesn't work.

Kate turns to Edward, "I think she needs something to motivate her."

I roll my eyes as Edward steps forward.

Bella's eyes widen, "No."

Edward shakes his head, "It's all right, I can take it."

Garrett laughs, "He says that now."

I grin

Emmett speaks up, "Focus, Bella, or he's gonna be hurting."

Edward then puts his hand up.

Bella suddenly yells out, "Edward, I'm not ready to do this yet."

Edward gets a painful electric shock.

He turns to look at Bella who instantly apologises, "I'm sorry. I said that I wasn't ready."

Emmett turns to Edward, "Dude, you're not motivating her. "

"You want to try?" Edward retorts.

Emmett puts his hand up in surrender.

They try again but it all goes to shit.
