FALL

Harry would've sat next to Niall during Astronomy that first day if he had known that that dumb Gryffindor would sit next to him.

He walked into the classroom, or climbed and then saw Niall sitting at one of the circular tables, alone. He hadn't of seen him yet this year, and he noticed that the boy's hair was blonder than before, meaning that he had died it.

Niall didn't noticed him at first, so Harry didn't really know if he should sit with him or not. None of Niall's other friends were in this class from what Niall could see, so he contemplated sitting with him.

Then he realized that Niall was probably upset with him, so he stupidly followed another Slytherin boy to the table behind Niall and sat down.

Soon the rest of the class filed in through the ground door and chose their seats, and Harry watched a few boisterous Gryffindors burst through, some that Harry recognized as Quidditch players.

Liam Payne was one of them, a tall, broad, and brown-eyed boy that was a little more quiet than his obnoxious friends. He was the Keeper for the Gryffindor team, and he was damn good at it. Harry remembers getting frustrated with him sometimes when he couldn't get the quaffle through.

Anyways, Harry watched the tan boy break off from his friends and struggle to find a seat, and then noticed Niall sitting patiently at his empty table. Liam looked at him and smiled a little, then sat down next to the Hufflepuff and introduced himself.

He eavesdropped on their whole conversation, ignoring the loud Gryffindors across the room.

"Hi, I'm Liam." Liam said, holding his hand out to Niall.

Niall smiled a little. "'M Niall." He said, shaking the bigger boy's hand.

"How come I've never seen you around, Niall?"

Niall shrugged. "Don't really get around that much. I stay in the library most of the time."

"That's a shame," Liam tsked. "Guess I'll have to go to the library more often then."

The boys were only fourteen, but Niall had known his sexuality almost his whole life, that he was gay, and Liam didn't really label himself. He was a smooth fourteen-year-old.

Niall blushed and started paying attention to Professor Trelawney and Harry burned from behind them, clenching his fists.

The library was his and Niall's thing. Who did this Liam think he was?

Well, sure, maybe the library may not be their thing anymore, since Niall is really still upset with him, but he is allowed to be upset when Gryffindors are flirting with Niall.

He wasn't upset because they were flirting, he was upset because Gryffindors were practically obnoxious no-goods who used people and just sucked in general. They were loud and cocky and Harry didn't want Niall to start acting like one of them.

Or at least, that's what he told himself.

So when he saw Niall walk out of the Astronomy room with Liam and down the corridor to their next classes together, he was more than a little upset. Part of him was just wishing Niall would drop Liam like a hat.

WINTER

Niall didn't drop Liam like a hat.

In fact, they soon became attached at the hip, almost as close as Niall and Luke were. Except, Niall and Luke were best friends, and Liam and Niall's relationship was more like a, well, relationship.

Neither of them had ever been in one before, a relationship, so they took it very, very, slowly.

After a while of hanging out, Niall started to develop a little crush on Liam, blushing often when around him and just wanting to be with him more often.
