FALL

Upon returning to Hogwarts for his fifth year, Harry had done many preparations. He knew what he wanted this year, and it was Niall.

He also knew that he would have to wait until Niall and Liam had broken up to be even able to have a chance with Niall, because Niall was a kind soul and would never cheat or hurt his loved ones.

Harry really liked Niall.

He was excited for this new year, and so was Niall.

Niall arrived at King's Cross with Liam, and Harry had noticed them from afar, which put a frown on his face. But he was not to be discouraged this year.

It was maybe the fourth week into school when Harry approached Niall for the first time. He had spotted Niall sitting on a chair in the corridor on the way back from his Quidditch practice.

With his broom still in hand and his Quidditch uniform giving him a bit of confidence like how it did on the pitch, he strode towards Niall, standing in front of the small blonde boy.

"Hey, Niall." He said, rocking on his heels.

Niall was surprised when he heard that voice because a), he hadn't seen anyone standing in front of him, b), Harry hadn't talked to him in almost a year, and c), his voice was a lot, lot deeper than Niall remembered. It was nice and gravelly.

He looked up from his book and his eyes met those forest green ones.

"Oh, hello Harry." He said politely, before going back to reading.

Harry stood there awkwardly for a moment before speaking again. "What're you reading?"

Niall just showed him the front cover of his book, of course a textbook or notebook about Care of Magical Creatures.

"Aha," Harry said, not really wanting the conversation to end, but Niall wasn't really being responsive. "I've just got back from Quidditch practice myself." He added.

Niall nodded. "Yes, I see that. You'll be playing against Gryffindor soon."

"That's right, and be prepared to watch your boyfriend lose." Harry boasted, and then inwardly cringed, because lets face it, he's not very smooth, and he can't really control most of what comes out of his mouth.

Niall shut his book and squinted his eyes at Harry. "You're awfully confident. And why are you speaking to me again?"

And Harry decided to just go for it. "Because I was looking for the Snitch, but you seem to be the finest catch here."

It took a moment for Niall to get what he was saying and then his beautiful blue eyes went wide, a blush crawling up his cheeks. "What?"

"I'm just saying, you must be a Snitch, because I've been seeking you my whole life." Harry shrugged nonchalantly.

Niall sat shocked, then looked around. "Is this a joke?"

"No," Harry shook his head honestly. "If you didn't notice I'm trying to woo you."

Niall looked at Harry seriously for a moment. He couldn't tell if Harry was pulling his leg or not. Why would Harry want to woo him? He never showed interest in him before, and he was always so mean too. Why would Harry actually like him all of a sudden.

The blonde boy finally stood up in front of Harry, holding his book in his hand. He looked right up at the curly haired boy and smiled.

"Well that's too bad my boyfriend's a Keeper."

And then the Hufflepuff bounced down the hallway, not even looking over his shoulder once.

Harry was shocked, to say the least. Where had that come from?
