Chapter Three: Ease My Pain
The Cliffhangers and Phoenix wait for Peter Scarbrow, Katherine Cabot and with Erza Friedkin to come back. We all wait in silence. I look at my watch which reads 11:55am looks like those damn paperworks have to wait for awhile.
"LISTEN UP EVERYONE! LET'S WALK BACK, WE CAN'T AFFORD TO WAIT ANY LONGER! WE ALL HAVE TO BE BACK BY 12" Hannah yells while helping Alan stand up on his two feet, Juliette helps Hannah.
"But what about Peter and the others?" Auggie questions.
"I don't know but it's now my responsibility to get you guys back safely" Hannah sighs leafing Alan up by her side.
"It's ok I got him" Juliette sighs supporting Alan.
The rest of the Cliffhangers and Phoenix stand up and walk back towards the house. It's a really quick walk from here to the house. No one talks until the walk is over. This stupid damn hike was such a bad idea from the start everyone is just glad to go back to Horizon. I stand up grabbing my pack back sliding it on my shoulders and walk towards home. Horizon that is.
I think about the pain, again. The pain that I left at the place I once called home. With Jess, Alice - my supposed to be mother, and Andrew my real guardian. I wonder where dad is? I miss him so much, we all did. Andrew Dean Merrick, born April 9th, 1964 was raised somewhere in California. He was a student at an all boys school and he met my mother around in college after he graduated the all boys school, they seemed perfect for each other.
I guess fairy tales are fake or unless they don't run in this family household. My mum wanted a divorce from my dad from inconiblle differences and well, they don't love each other anymore. They were college sweethearts, puppy love and nothing more to it, they both thought they could be in love like In the twenties again. I guess their love faded out - like everything else in the house.
I look at my watch and it's 11:59, time is just passing by.
I have a quick glance again and it's still 11:59. I wait for a few seconds and it still hasn't changed. Just want this day to end badly.
I puff with the thought of 'wanting this day to end already' until we reach the front porch of Hoizon. Just wanting the world to go away. I look down at my watch hoping time has pass and it's still freaking 11:59. I let out a loud sigh only to cause Juliette to react.
"What the heck was that, Shelby?" Juliette questions.
"Nothing, princess" I answer giving out a cross expression on my face and eyes.
Juliette looks at me, staring at me with her golden brown eyes. Her hair braided into plats, her skin pale and clean. Well, expect for the scars that are on her arms.
"Stop calling me a princess, Shelby! It's getting real old" Juliette yells but not too loud to bring everyone's attention.
I just give Juliette one of my most classic Shelby expressions. Rolling my eyes and my lips pierced harshly. Juliette's reaction makes me giggle a little, she's such a baby. She doesn't know the world - how cruel it can be. She's just a baby.

The Cliffhangers and Phoenix are scattered around Mount Horizon, the hike is truly over. After the arrival I don't pay any attention to anything or anybody but me as I head to my dorm.
