-----------------------------------------------------

Greetings, my name is Eduardo. Yes, the Eduardo. I'm the guy you go to to play tea party with. The guy you go to to play pretend rock star. The guy you no longer need when you hit that window of adulthood.

Well, lets put it this way.

I'm the representation of 'The Guy.' I represent the forgotten friends you all made when you were younger. We are most known as "Imaginary Friends" by your parents, which is pretty unfortunate since my kind aren't necessarily imaginary.

We are souls that are put into different bodies and different young minds each time a child is born. It is our job to keep your childhood as memorable as possible, and to keep the youth alive.

I am just one out of a billion of those forgotten people.

I joined in on this operation when I died as a normal human; I had a choice to either rest in peace long term or to keep children's minds pure. Then I ended up here, this dreadful event.

Me, writing out my last report as an Imaginary Friend. At some point, souls have to take a permanent rest until they are put into another human. And as of right now, that rest begins right after I complete this depressing note.

I have been told that this report will be transferred to the human world and will be seen by the child that we last accompanied. Considering the fact that I have no problem with having this particular child as my last, I am grateful to have this chance.

Her name's Delia. She wasn't the same as my other friends. She imagined me as a totally new planet that could walk and talk called Zimmer. I guess you could say I was her world.

Yes, that was a pun. Deal with it.

Anyway, Delia was madly in love with anything dealing with the universe, anything that lies in it, and even things beyond the world that some are skeptical of. For example, aliens living on stars. She always said to herself that aliens haven't been discovered yet because no one thought of the brilliant idea to explore on the stars. I was impressed with this observation, as she was just 6 years old and already conjuring up scientific conclusions about the universe. Every time she learned new, useful information she'd talk to me about it during play time.

Once, when she found out that scientists were able to create technology to reverse aging, she threw open the mahogany front door, without even realizing that she didn't put on her light up Sketchers, and came to the rocket.

Now, when I say 'The Rocket,' I don't mean a metal, stable-for-space rocket. I mean a brown box, with Crayola crayons or markers used to draw windows and the pointed top. The only way you could enter was by removing it from the ground.

Anyway, I'm going off topic again. But, as she entered the rocket, she called out to me in her squeaky high voice, adjusting her rounded glasses, with a spark in her eyes. It was the first time I saw it. Despite the fact that she studied stars, it's funny how she herself held one in her eyes.

It was her youth.

Her youth was sparking, and growing, as if it was the fuel to her engines. I have never seen such a ripe child have the will to go for something. Children these days sit in front of their personal computer to watch other children (although being older) like Jake Paul tear up a Lamborghini for views. Ugh. Don't even get me started with Jake Paul.

But, some youth die. Sadly, Delia being put into that category.

Her parents weren't the best. Being the middle child of a 3 sibling family, her accomplishments weren't appreciated as much as the rest, even if, in my own totally unbiased opinion, they should've been looked at even more than the rest.

She felt alone.

So, she came to me for a friend. I was the only one to listen, appreciate, help, or even talk to. But this all hit a wall when she entered middle school. She realized she only had herself in this messy world, and shut everyone else out.

I watched from a distance as she cried every night on the roof, under the stars that once shined for her. I watched as she stayed up nights on end to perfect everything assigned to her, to even reach beyond her expectations. I silently was there for her, while I slowly turned into nothing.

Delia, if you're reading this, it's Zim. My outside name is Eduardo, no matter how weird it sounds as it rolls off of your tongue. I will always be here, in your heart, in your mind. I hope you find the courage to bring back your youth, to realize that life isn't to make others recognize you for something.

Only do what will make you happy.

You do that and the spark in your eyes and the brightness in your face will come back.

I will explore the unknown and finish what we started. I promise.
