Struck Beneath

Skulduggery dropped her off at the pier. She said thank you and walked home in the cold. When she rang the doorbell, no one answered. She rang it again. No one. She pushed against the air and sprang up to her bedroom window. It was locked. Valkyrie thought for a moment. She was sure she had left the window open. Someone's in there. She smashed the window open. And climbed through. She looked around her room. It was all messed up. Some one had been here. She opened her door quietly and then tiptoed down the first stair. And then the second. And then the third. And then... the stair creaked. " Hello Valkyrie" a voice said from in the living room. " Come on down. I've wanted to meet you for a long time now. I won't hurt you don't worry" Valkyrie walked downstairs and into the living room. She saw a man with half blonde half brown hair in a tux with a suitcase. " Who are you?" She asked. " I am Fury Sevens" Valkyrie looked at his suitcase and looked at a name carved in it. Now she remembered where she had seen him before. Skulduggery told her about him. " No you're not. You're Mendax Captionem. You lie and trap people in that suitcase of yours. By the way, the leather on your suitcase is really nice" She said. " Thankyou and very well done. Do you know why I chose my name?" He asked. " Uh..." She said but was interrupted. " You don't? Good! Well in Latin my name means liar trap. Isn't that clever! I love it" he replied. " Where are my family? Tell me now or I'll kill you" she asked as she slowly moved towards him. She could see the fear in his eyes now. " Tell Me NOW!" She shouted and flew up into the air. She put her hand out and a beam of red, blue, white and brown hit Mendax right in the head. He fell down to the ground. He was dead. Valkyrie drifted down and landed, the rage still flowing through her veins. She looked down at the body. Then laughed.
