Moments After Akito Left The Cake Shoppé~Hikari's POV~
'Wait......did he just.....did I just see Akito worry over someone other than himself? Wait....why is he worrying over Katy? He doesn't even know her like that....does he? Evette? Why is she here? The only reason she would hurt Katy is if. NO!.......Akito! Tell me you didn't? Should I go help? If I do that, Ivvy will be suspicious of my connections with him. Wait,.....maybe she's already suspicious! She saw him storm out of here but, did she see anything else?..........FUCK!'
"Hikari!"
Hearing her voice, I jump in my spot. "Yea." Is all I could manage, lost in my thoughts and wondering what to do. "What did he want?" She asks, a look of confusion clouds her expression. "I-I don't know. He just came in here shouting nonsense and left." I lied, guilt seeping through my pores. Silence over took as I tried to compose myself. Ivvy, still perplexed by what had just occurred, still holding the door to the kitchen open. "Hey!" She exclaims, bringing the door closer to the frame.
"What's up?" I ask, trying not to sound too guilty. "I'm gonna go check on Katy, I think I upset her by what I said. So what if she's seeing Akito. She's my best friend. Even if I don't like him and I think he's the scum of the earth, if she likes him that's all that matters." She explains, leaning against the frame. "Oh?" I reply, turning back to the cake I was decorating. "Keep an eye on the shop until I get back okay?" Saying those words, she closes the door behind her and leaves the Shoppé. 'Fuck......'
Akito's POV~
"Where is she?" I ask, staring at Evette who is sitting on the couch. Sipping tea from a cup, she smiles, setting her teacup down on the saucer. "Who do you mean?" She replies, smiling that wicked smile, all the while knowing I am not playing around with her.
Before she could reach for her teacup, I grab her hand, causing the tea the splash on the floor. "Where is Katy goddamn it!" I shout, squeezing her small hand as hard as I can. "Aki! You're hurting me!" She cries, pulling away from me. "WHERE!" I shout once more.
"She's in the kitchen." She says with a smile, rubbing her hand, standing up from the couch. Hearing a honk from outside, I see her bags lined up in a row. "Where the fuck do you think you're going?" I ask, feeling enraged at her very presence. "You love her don't you, Aki. How careless of you." She replies, completely ignoring my words."What are you talking about?" I question, standing like stone in the living room. Frozen by her statement.
"Otherwise, why be mad at me for hurting your precious Katy?" She asks, opening the door for the driver of the taxi out front to walk inside and take her bags. "She is nothing more than a pawn." Replying to her words, I feel something involuntary fall from my eyes. "Really? Hmm...the Aki I know, wouldn't let a doll like her live. You may treat her like your toy, but when it comes down to it." She says, stepping closer to me. "You would have killed her long ago from shear boredom." Giggling at her words, she backs away.
The driver, taking the last of the bags, as Evette keeps a watchful eye on me. "Lie to me all you like" taking her small bag as she says those words, I watch her reach the door. "But don't lie to yourself." Saying those words she reaches for the door. "How sweet, my dearest Aki fell in love. Too bad you can't love a corpse." With those words, she slams the door behind her. Wanting to run after Evette, I fight the urge to break her neck and run into the kitchen.
Finding a basket of cookies strewn on the floor, I walk around the island to find Katy laying still. Looking at the cookies, I see bites missing from them. Picking up a cookie, I smell it for traces of anything she might have used. 'Belladonna?!' I thought, falling to my knees, I check her vitals to be sure she is dead.
