Alice Lane, Duvain House The Next Day 12:00 noon~~~
I finally took the advice of the Day Nurse and went home. Pulling into my driveway, I sat in the car for a moment, lighting a cigarette after realizing how long its been since my last one. Inhaling a puff of smoke, I hold it in my lungs as I rest my shaking hands on the steering wheel. Continuing to think of Akito, constantly questioning why he has not been to see Katy at all. Someone so worried over her safety and he hasn't bothered at all to find out anything. Letting go of the smoke in my lungs, I crank my car once more. "Damn it." I say under my breath, pulling out of my driveway, leaving my house behind.
Leaving Alice Lane, I turn onto University Drive, passing the stadium and the college dorms as I make my way to the square. Leaving Teaberry Square, I turn on Paradise Drive and continue down until I reach Katy's driveway. Taking another drag of my cigarette, I put it out and exhale the smoke. Stepping out of the car, I walk quickly to her door, slamming my fist down rapidly. "I know you are here Akito! Open up!" I say, continuing to bang on the door. After a few moments, the door opened to reveal a half awake Akito. "What do you want, doll" He asks, his tone condescending as he hangs on the door. "You know, for someone so concerned for Katy's safety, you haven't even bothered to check up on her. Any reason in particular?" I ask, glaring daggers at him as he yawns nonchalantly. "I wasn't aware you were my warden? I don't do hospitals, doll." his reply just made me want to punch him as I stood there staring him down. "I knew this was a waste of time, stay away from Katy!" I say turning on a heel and speed walking to my car.
After returning home, I took a deep breath and stepped out of my car. I just wanted to feed Chloe and go to sleep. I have lost days of sleep over worry and distress over Katy's coma. I just want her to wake up and tell me what happened. Locking my car door, I make my way to my front door, fishing through my keys to find my house keys.
Finally finding my key, I open the door and turn on my iPod hoping to drown out the world. "My demons are begging me to open my mouth, I need them mechanically make the words come out.." Halsey's Hold Me Down began to play as I place my keys on the table near the door and turn on the light. "Chloe?" I call out to my cat, who seems to not want to appear as her usual routine when I come home. To think I have been gone for a couple of days, she would have been at my feet when I came in the house. "Chloe?!" I call out again, walking toward my hallway that leads to the bedroom. Shuffling my feet, I feel something furry at my feet. Looking down, I see a sleeping Chloe. "There you are, why didn't you greet me, huh?" I say in a soft tone, reaching to pick her up.
As soon as my hands touch her soft fur, I feel a sense of dread, picking up her stiff body from the floor. "Chloe?" her eyes blank and her body lifeless, I scream, falling to the floor. Knowing I was only gone for two days, not long enough for her to starve or dehydrate, seeing how I fed her before I left the other day. Checking her over I feel her neck, the bones seemed to have been broken in several places. Tears fall as I clutch her lifeless form in my hands. "I don't understand? There was no sign of a break in, no one took anything? Who would do this?" I say, looking around, standing up to find a box to put Chloe into.
After finding a box, I place her inside and quickly get a shower. Checking over my entire house to see if there was indeed any sign of forced entry, yet nothing comes up. Walking in to my bedroom, I see my filing cabinet wide open and my files are jammed into the drawer carelessly. "Who could have done this?" I say, getting dressed, as I put the files back as I had them. "It's the devil that's tryna hold me down, hold me down, sneaking out the back door and make no sound.." Having enough of the radio, I grab the box and make my way up front to quickly turn it off.Taking a deep breath as the sound of the music stops, clutching the box as tears fall again, my mind begins to wonder as I thought about the conversation Hikari and I had last night.
