Regretting Forgetting

Everything stood still, frozen in place.

It's gone, all of it, just gone.

There was no sense of movement, of haste

How could it all have gone so wrong.

This moment should have blazed with color

Color, there was so much of it.

Muted and dull, the world growing smaller.

Fractured, broken pieces ceased to fit.

Shards, glittering through the air

Why didn't this feel undeserved, unfair.

There isn't a moment to regret.

But that doesn't stop the attempt to forget.

Not sure why there is so much pain.

Not quite the best for keeping one sane.

Guess it's a bit late though.

I realize now, it was a shame to go.
