I laid with my head in Shawn's lap as he slept. His hair was unkempt and messily swept to the side. I watched as his eyes moved back and forth under his eyelids a frown overtook his plump lips. Shawn's eyes quickly shot open.
"You know its not polite to stare," Shawn mumbled in a groggy voice as he closed his eyes again.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah..I just had a nightmare."
I sat up, readjuisting myself by his side. "About what."
Shawn kept his eyes closed, "It started with my tour bus leaving me. I had to walk down a long dark hallway that was lit by a singular florecent light," He opened his eyes pointing to the light by the entrance of the building. "Similar to that one. And then.." His throat tightened. "I...I.. had to spend an entire night in a small cell with you."
I curled my fist then punched Shawn as hard as I could in the shoulder, "Fuck you. I'm not that bad."
"I suppose you're right it could be a lot worse," Shawn wrapped his arm around my shoulder pulling me in toward his chest. I rested my head against his pecktoral muscle. "I could be stuck with you for two days. Wouldn't that just be-"
I giggled holding up my middle finger.
"Hey thats not very lady like," Shawn chuckled enterlacing his fingers with mine.
"Do I seem very lady like to you?"
"Again I suppose you're right."
A few minutes of comfortable silence past. I closed my eyes and felt myself slowly slipping into a deep sleep.
"What did your Dad say earlier about you buying my CD," Shawn questioned as he ran his fingers through my tangled hair.
I opened my eyes only to roll them at Shawn, "It was a gift and I was 14. You were a teenage heart throb-"
"You thought I was a teenage heart throb?"
"Oh please don't let your head get too big."
"That wasn't a no," Shawn softly chuckled in response as he ran his fingers through his hair, tugging at the tips.
--
The front door to squeaked open causing me to wake from an unsatisfying sleep. Shawn's fingers were interlaced with mine as my head laid in his lap. Slowly I began pulling my head off of him, not trying to wake him. Just as I was about to slip my fingers apart from his, Shawn groaned wrapping his arms around me.
"I don't want to leave," Shawn whined against my forehead.
I giggled placing my hand on his thigh, "You know Shawn, you've been quite a pain in the ass but, I think I might miss you."
He kissed my forehead with a grin then stood up. A large bald man entered the cop shop and walked toward us. He was wearing a thick coat but I could still see the outline of his bulging muscles.
"Wow its so weird seeing you here John, who would've thought?" Shawn sassily exclaimed.
The unfriendly looking man simply shook his head.
"Where is mother dearest anyways?"
"She sent me to come get you're delinquent ass," John waved over a security guard who just started his shift.
A smug smirk arose on Shawn's face, "Oh I'm so sorry to inconvenience you guys.
"I'm not the one you're going to have to be apologizing to."
The guard John previously waved at opened the cell door, "The charges have been dropped but the sheriff told me to relay this message." The stout man pulled a piece of paper from his uniform and began reading it, "If Shawn Mendes ever steps foot in this town or speaks to my daughter again I will not hesitate to arrest him."
John furrowed his eyebrows then reached for the note. After reading it he nodded his head and handed it to Shawn. Shawn simply rolled his eyes then handed it back before reading it.
"Alright. We've got to get you out of here," John clapped his hand on Shawn's shoulder.
They turned toward the door as the guard began closing the cell door. My throat began to tighten as my eyes pooled with tears.
"Wait," I yelled causing everyone to halt. Quickly I pushed myself from the metal bench. Before Shawn could step toward me I wrapped my arms around his torso. Tears spilled from my eyes. He tightly wrapped his arms around me, burying my face into his chest.
"Promise me you'll come back," I mumbled when I came up for air.
Shawn whipped the tears from my face with the sleeve of his sweatshirt, "But your dad-"
"I'll be 18 soon, he wont be able to control me forever," A few rouge tears continued to fall.
"Mila I promise," Shawn planted a kiss on my forehead before turning toward John.
The guard obnoxiously cleared his throat, I shot him a glare. "You have to return to the cell until your father come to get you."
I mumbled obscure curse words as I returned to the plain cell. When I turned back around Shawn was gone, leaving me to sit alone on the cold bench. Silently, tears pooled then fell down my cheeks.

I hate to say this but this is probably the second to last chapter to this book. Honestly this has been my favorite book to write. I don't have school this week so I'm hoping to update each of my books at least once. Thank you guys for reading, happy holidays. - R.L.T.
