*** Sam's POV ***

I turn on my heel and stomp out of the library. How could this happen? I though Jason's plan would work and everything would be perfect. But now Alice knows Pan's dead and Jason's going to tell her I killed her parents. Well isn't this just great.

I turn down one hallway and walk to the dark end. Once I reach the end door I turn the knob and enter the room. There in the middle sits the knife. I circle around the display, my hands clasped behind my back.

The woman cowers in the corner. I tower over her and smirk.

"You thought you could hide from us? Coward!" I yell.

"No I won't let you do this! Peter Alice run!" The woman calls out. I turn around and notice two little creatures run out of the house and into the jungle. Rumple said just the parents don't touch the children. I growl and go back to my victim.

"I don't want your children. They will dig their own graves. I already killed your friend now I just need you."

"Then do it. You and your family will perish I swear on it!" I glare at the women and thrust the knife into her heart. In an instant she is dead. I laugh and transport myself back to Jason and Rumple.

"It's done." I smile. Rumple pats me on the back and Jason just coughs. I can't wait for this all to be over.

The memory stops. The next few days after that are really fuzzy and I don't know why, it's always been a puzzle.

"When does this end?" I scream into the blank room.

"When you want it to dearie." Says Rumple from behind me. "Now be a good boy and listen to your brother."

"No I will not hurt her."

"Oo love is weakness my child. Don't let it get to your head it dogs it up."

"Leave." I demand.

"As you wish." I smell the smoke as he disappears.

*** Alice's POV ***

The cool air swirls around me as I walk down the path. Pan is dead. Jason has his heart. But how? Jason must have killed him after the last time I saw him with Wendy.

I sink to my knees and the tears fall down my face. Gosh I'm such an idiot. I don't even know who to believe anymore.

The world around me looks so contorted. Everything I've ever known is a lie. Every person turns on me. Every time I feel safe someone tried to kill me.

*** Jason's POV ***

"Ah if only he follows through." I swirl my champagne around.

"He will if he knows what's good for him. This plan has been so many years in the making there is no way it's going down now." Rumple paces around the small room. I look up at him and watch the tension in his face.

"Father calm down it's going to work. A bit of my potion still lingers on that fools brain."

"Good got any more of it? Might come in handy later on in our little game."

"Just a tad. But will of of Alice's objects it shouldn't be that hard." Rumple nods and leaves the room. I shut my eyes for a moment to locate all of my playing pieces. Ah they all think they have the upper hand, but I'm already ten steps ahead.

*** Sam's POV ***

I race to my potion room. There is only one way to get this done.

In front of me lies rows of little glass bottles. So much evil in such a small place. It takes me a moment to spot the proper potion. I grab it along with the small bottle next to it.

Let's get this over with. I transport myself to Neverland. Around me the night unfolds. I am perched above the sea looking down at the sandy beach.

Just do it.

Everything will be alright.

She'll never know the truth.

I climb off the rock and start down the paths to camp. As I walk I form a plan. Will she believe it though? I can't let this fall through again. Once everything is right then the plan can continue.

A scream breaks the silence of the night and I hear the rustling as someone runs towards me. I pause and wait to see where the person goes. Suddenly a figure fall ms into the path.

"Alice?" I walk forward.

"Sam oh my gosh. He chased me." Alice clambers up and into my arms.

"Who?" I hold her tight and rub her back.

"Charlie." Hah that little boy is so dead. So an expendable playing piece. I'll kill him if Jason doesn't first.

"Come on you're safe now." I grab her hand and walk down the path. Safe? Hah this girl will never be safe again.

Once we reach the beach I set up a small camp. Alice sits silently staring into the fire. I watch her for a minute before joining her.

"You alright?" I ask putting my arm around her small frame. She snuggles into me.

"I don't know who to trust or believe."

"You can always trust me. You know that right?"

"I do." She looks at me. I smile down at her and we both begin to lean in. The kiss is soft and slow.

"It's late I think I'm going to go to bed." She gets up and walks over to the tent. "Night Sam."

"Night Alice sweet dreams." She disappoints the tent and I am left alone. I stay like this till the sun comes up. There is no way I'm letting Charlie get her.

Small tendrils of light paint the sky and surrounding ground. The air slowly heats up as the large yellow orb rises in the sky. Alice leaves the tent and comes and sits with me.

"I'll make breakfast you go get some fire wood. We are going to need a lot." I tell her and she races into the jungle.

I wave my hand and a small feast appears. I grab a glass of water and pull out the potion. The clear liquid vanishes leaving the drink looking normal.

Ah one more thing! I pull out the other potion from my pocket and pop the cork out. The stench hits my nose in an instant. It smells putrid, I push these thoughts away and bring the vile to my lips.

No going back.

No regrets.

No more hiding.

I gulp down the liquid and wait. The world blurs around me and I lay back to steady myself. Suddenly the world comes back into focus and I sit up.

It's good to be back.
