Third Person's POV
In the darkness of the night, with only the moon shining down, a shadow appears and disappears on top of buildings, sometimes going into someone's house through the window before coming back out in a minute.
After two hours, it finally goes back into the darkness before coming back out, the owner of the shadow shaking slightly as she looks into the last house, slipping in again.
Hearing the sound of a window sliding close, Karma opens his eyes and looks at Aira, who is facing the window instead of him. "Aira-chan, you do know if you want to come in you can just call me." He smirks, swinging his legs off the bed and walks over to her.
However, before he can reach her, he stops and frowns when he sees the barely noticeable shaking of her shoulders. "Aira-chan, what—"
Before he can finish his sentence, she suddenly turns around and hugs him, the sudden weight making them fall to the ground.
Karma winces slightly and sits up. Looking at the trembling girl with her head buried into his chest, he seems to feel his heart break slightly.
It has been almost 4 months since he has last seen her like this, but the pain doesn't diminish, instead it seems to become deeper, etching more scars in his mind.
"I am here, everything's okay." He whispers, putting his arms around her gently.
Aira can feel all the despair running through her body as she feels the comfort and warmth from Karma. For two whole hours, she has been sneaking into everyone's houses to give them the poison, and every single time, she feels more alone, more empty, especially when she sees Kayano's bedside table which has a photo of them, but she has to burn it.
And now, every evidence of her ever existing in their lives are gone.
Taking in the warmth of his embrace for the last time, she stops her trembling and looks up into his mercury eyes, and then, to his surprise, leans up and kisses him.
He can feel the desperation in her lips as they move on his, biting out blood. Immediately, he understands what she is trying to tell him, and returns the kiss with the same desperation, slipping his hands into her hair and pulls slightly to deepen the kiss.
"Karma...gomen...I didn't want to...this isn't..." she sobs out everytime he pulls away slightly to let her catch her breath, and everytime, the kiss becomes gentler until it is just a long touch of their lips, but the emotions through them is stronger than ever.
Karma looks at her and kisses away the tears, whispering, "I know."
I know this isn't what you want.
I know this isn't your choice.
Hearing the two words, Aira lets her tears flow out even faster, reaching up again to kiss him.
This time, she just lets her lips touch his like a dragonfly touching the water surface, and yet, like the calm water surface, both their emotions become unstable waves.
"Damn it! You said you wouldn't leave me again! Why is life so unfair!?" Karma growls furiously, leaning down and bites her neck, drawing blood.
"I don't want this either. I don't want you to forget about me. I don't want Kayano to forget about me. I don't want anyone to forget about me. But they just don't let me do what I want! All I want is to be with you and Kayano and..." Aira cries out, letting all the emotions come out.
His heart breaks into pieces as soon as he hears the fury coming out of her voice, and immediately kisses her, pushing her to the ground. Feeling his weight on her and the warm and soft lips upon hers, she lets him pin her hands above her head, knowing that he is trying to let her know how angry he is, how desperate he is...
And how much he loves her.
"Aira..." He mumbles out against her lips before pulling away, looking at her from above. "Even if I hope that you will stay, you still won't, right?" His voice breaks at the end, and he quickly releases her, leaning against the bed with his hands covering his face.
Aira sits up and crawls over to him, hesitating a bit before hugging him. He moves slightly and puts his head on her shoulder, letting her comfort him for a while before looking back up, ordering, "You will come back to me, and I will remember you again. Got it?"
Looking into his determined eyes, she nods slightly, taking out a needle from a small bag around her waist. There is a pale green liquid inside the needle, and with just one look, Karma knows that this is the poison.
Aira takes the cover of the needle tip away and looks at a vein in his wrist, her hands trembling when she tries to put it in. He sighs and takes her suddenly cold hands into his warm ones, touching his forehead to hers.
"I promise. I will remember you." He whispers, wiping away the tears that appeared in her blue eyes again.
She lets his warmth spread through her again before putting the needle in, pushing the liquid into his veins.
Karma can feel a headache coming up, and his vision starts to blacken, but still, his eyes remain on her features, his hands touching her face delicately as if he is trying to etch her into his heart.
"Ne, Aira-chan, give me a smile." He says weakly, struggling to keep his eyes open when he falls into her embrave, his hand still remaining on her cheek.
Letting the tears flow down freely, Aira takes in a shaky breath before giving him a small peck on the cheek. "Sayonara, Karma." She smiles brightly, but her voice still trembles.
He smiles weakly before closing his eyes, his hand dropping to the ground limply.
Sayonara, Aira...I will remember you again, just like how you fell in love me again...
