"I can't believe we're finally seniors." Gray said.

"Yeah," Nastu grinned. "feels like yesterday when we first met."

"Ha, you two were such dorks!" You laughed.

"Hey!" Natsu and Gray shouted, glaring at you.

Six years ago . . .

"What're you starin' at, pinkie?" Gray growled, glaring at the pink haired boy.

"What's your problem, droopy eyes?" Natsu fired back.

"What did you call me?"

"You heard me!"

The two twelve year olds continued to bicker back-and-forth with each other while outside on the soccer field.

They were current in P.E. and their teacher had taken the class of boys outside to play soccer.

At Golden Isles Middle School, the school that Natsu and Gray attended, the P.E. classes were separated by gender. There were two classes; one for the boys and one for the girls.

Gray had been by himself; it was the first week of school and he had yet to make any friends due to his history of being bullied in elementary school. He had recently moved away from the town in which he was bullied, hoping to make a fresh start at this new school.

He was kicking a soccer ball lazily when he heard a thud.

Natsu was by himself as well, since he was new in town and had no friends yet, kicking a soccer ball. He accidentally kicked it too hard and the ball rolled away from him.

The pink haired boy chased after the ball, but tripped over his own foot, causing him to fall face forward into the grass. Aggravated at himself for probably looking like a fool, he looked up with a harsh glare, locking eyes with Gray.

"Alright, you two, settle down." The teacher commanded.

About ten minutes before class was over, he took his group of boys back inside of the gym.

Inside the gym, the girls class was finishing up their volleyball game.

From the far side of the gym, opposite from where the boys were entering, a girl was preparing to perform a spike. Though she was small, she had strong legs and could jump high.

And that's what she did.

The ball was spiked with a little too much force. It veered off target and headed straight for the group of boys.

"Look out!" A girl with (h/c) hair shouted a warning.

SMACK!

The volleyball hit Natsu in the face, or rather his left cheek to be exact. He fell backwards on the floor, the gym going silent.

"O-Oh no . . ." The girl who had spiked whimpered. Tears formed in her eyes as a look of guilt flashed in her eyes.

"Lucy, that was too hard!" You scolded, looking at the blonde.

"S-Sorry!" She apologized.

"Don't say sorry to me." You shook your head, "I'm not the one you hit in the face."

With that being said, you ran toward the injured boy while everyone else stood still like statues.

"A-Are you okay?" You asked, leaning over the boy who was still on the floor.

"I'm fine!" The boy exclaimed, immediately sitting up and holding his cheek.

"Are you sure?" You asked tilting your head to the side.

"Yeah!" The boy nodded his head frantically.

"I don't think so." The boys' teacher spoke up, finally coming out of shock. He stood next to Natsu, looking down at the boy with his arms crossed over his chest. "Your cheek is red and swollen." He informed. "You should go see the nurse."

"But-"

"No buts." The teacher interrupted sternly. "Fullbuster, accompany him to the nurse."

Gray flinched at the order given. 'Why do I have to take him?' He grumbled in his head.

The bell signaling class change rang and the students moved throughout the gym, gathering their stuff and leaving.

Gray impatiently waited for Natsu to grab his backpack, growing angrier by the second.

"Would you hurry up!" He growled.

"Shut up!" Natsu replied, his eyebrows furrowed together. "I'm injured, you know!"

"You'll be in more pain if you don't hurry." Gray grumbled.

When Natsu was finally ready to leave, the two boys exited the gym. Turning the corner, they were startled by a sudden presence.

"Hey!" You called as the boys finally left the gym. You had been waiting for a while outside of the gymnasium to check up on the pink haired boy.

"Wh-What do you want!?" Gray yelled, trying to calm his pounding heart from the startle.

"Yeah, you scared us!" Natsu added.

"I wasn't scared . ." Gray mumbled, avoiding eye contact with both you and Natsu.

"You so were!" Natsu shouted, pointing an accusing finger at the raven haired boy.

"Was not!"

"Was too!"

"Was not!"

"Was too!"

"Was not!"

"Was-"

Before Natsu could continue, he felt something wet go into his ear. Glancing to the side, his face contorted in shock and disgust, he looked to his left to see you suddenly standing there.

"Did you just wet willy us!?" Natsu asked, noticing your fingers. Apparently, the same thing happened to Gray because he had the same grossed out expression on his face.

Your pinky fingers were still pointed toward the two boys and you held a serious and stern expression on your face.

"What's your name?" You asked, ignoring his question.

"N-Natsu. Natsu Dragneel."

You nodded in response before turning your attention to the other boy. "And you?"

"Gray. G-Gray Fullbuster."

You hummed, your serious face turning playful. "Great!" You exclaimed, "I'm (Y/N). (Y/N) (L/N)."

"You were such a bully." Natsu commented on the flashback, pouting.

"A gross bully." Gray added, grimacing.

"I was not a bully." You defended yourself, "You two were just babies!"

"You know you love us, (Y/N)." Gray smirked.

You rolled your eyes and playfully scoffed. "Unfortunately." You laughed before walking off. "We've got our first day of senior year tomorrow! C'mon!"

Natsu and Gray followed behind you, leaving some distance between you and them.

"Are we going to tell her?" Natsu whispered.

"Yeah," Gray nodded, "we can do it tomorrow morning. I want her to know before we graduate."

"Me too."
