You groaned as your alarm clock went off, annoyed that it woke you up and out of your dreaming state.
But then you remembered . . .
SENIOR YEAR!
With excitement flowing through you, you sprang out of bed and made your way to the bathroom to permanently remove the sleep from your face.
After washing your face, brushing your teeth, and fixing your hair, you got dressed. I'm a senior! I'm a senior! You hummed in your head. Walking to the kitchen, the smell of bacon hit your nostrils.
Your mother was in the kitchen cooking pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs.
"This looks delicious!" You exclaimed, your mouth watering.
"Well, it's a big day!" Your mom smiled, "My baby girl is all grown up. It feels like yesterday when you wouldn't let go of my hand at kindergarten."
"No need to get emotional." You sighed, then smiled back. "Save that for graduation."
You sat down at the dining table and ate your breakfast. As for the rest of your family, your father works as a police officer, so he's never really home. Your mom is retired; she served eight years in the military, but was released when she got injured.
And unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you view it), you were an only child. But it's not like you were lonely.
You had Natsu and Gray.
As if on cue, as soon as your best friends came to mind, a car horn was honked from outside. Must be the idiots. You thought, grinning to yourself.
"Mom, Natsu and Gray are here!" You informed her, standing up and walking to the kitchen with your empty plate. "I'm going."
You handed her the plate, since she was washing dishes, and ran to your room to retrieve your backpack. After grabbing it, you were making your way to the front door when your mom stopped you.
"Wait!" She said, coming up behind you. You stopped and looked over your shoulder. "Yeah?" You raised an eyebrow. She just stared at you, her eyes becoming watery. "They grow up so fast!" Your mom sobbed.
"Mom!" You groaned, rolling your eyes.
"Have a good day at school." Your mom said, wiping her tears away. "A-And pay attention in class. It's your last year, you have to make it count!"
"Okay, mom." You said, growing impatient. "I got it."
She nodded, quickly hugging you and then backing away. "Bye, (Y/N)."
"Bye, mom."
Exiting the house, you spotted Gray's car in your driveway.
A blue 2016 Mercedes Benz C-Class Cabriolet.
Gray was, obviously, in the driver's seat while Natsu was sprawled out in the back seat, his cheeks puffed out and his face contorted in disgust.
"Jeez, would you look at this guy, (Y/N)?" Gray smirked as you say down in the passenger's seat, referring to Natsu. "We aren't even moving yet and he looks like he's gonna puke his guts out."
"Sh-Shut up, Gray!" Natsu stuttered from the back. Then he groaned as he squirms in agony.
You see, Natsu has severe motion sickness. But this is better than taking the bus. He'd rather get a ride from Gray than be seen as a senior who still needs the school bus.
You chuckled at the two boys as Gray backed out of the driveway. In five minutes, you were at school.
"Finally!" Natsu sighed in relief once he was out of the car, throwing himself on the concrete ground. "Sweet land!"
"Get off of the ground, you roach!" Gray growled, glaring down at the pink haired boy. "You're suppose to be a senior, so why don't you act like it and be mature for once."
"I'll do whatever I want, stripper!" Natsu growled back.
"Who you callin' a-" Gray stopped himself from continuing when he looked down at himself and noticed that he didn't have a shirt on. "Where did my shirt go?" He mumbled, looking around the nearby area for his shirt.
While Gray was occupied with finding his clothing, Natsu got off of the ground and picked up his backpack.
"You see, (Y/N)," Natsu grinned at you. "you can't take that guy anywhere. He can't even keep his clothes on."
You laughed at your friend's words, succeeding in making his grin spread wider. But his next statement made time stop.
"That's why you should go out with me instead. That and I really like you, (Y/N)!" Natsu had a huge smile on his face, his eyes closed in pure happiness and excitement.
"YOU IDIOT!" Gray's booming voice shouted as he was returning with his shirt and backpack on. He was very angry, having veins popping out of his neck and his teeth were gritted. Stomping toward Natsu, he grabbed the boy - once in front of him - by the collar of his shirt and pulled him dangerously close. "WE HAD A PLAN! WHY DIDN'T YOU STICK TO THE PLAN?" Gray shouted in Natsu's face.
"Well," Natsu sighed calmly before instantly matching Gray's pissed off expression, "MAYBE IF YOU COULD REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR CLOTHES ON, THEN THAT COULD'VE BEEN AN OPTION!"
"THAT DOESN'T MATTER! WE WERE SUPPOSE TO TELL HER TOGETHER SO IT WOULD BE FAIR!"
"WELL, I COULDN'T WAIT ON YOU, SLOWPOKE!"
"NATSU, I'M GONNA RIP YOU TO PIECES!"
"I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU TRY!"
A crowd started forming around you and the boys, the students whispering amongst themselves.
You stood there watching your two best friends, having no idea what they were talking about, but what you did know was that Natsu told you that he liked you.
Wait a minute . . . You thought, putting two-and-two together.
"I really like you, (Y/N)!"
"WE WERE SUPPOSE TO TELL HER TOGETHER!"
You gasped upon realization that your two best friends could possibly, or certainly, like you as more than a friend.
