Present
"I'd have to meet with the band before we set an official date, but I think Friday would be a good night." Reyna was on the phone with Hades, one of the popular club owners in New York. Once Reyna showed him their music, he loved it and asked when they would be able to play his most popular club, The Underworld.
"Okay. I would also like to meet the band before their performance." Hades always wanted to get to know the musicians he hired before they performed.
"I'll talk to them and we'll get all the dates sorted out."
"Call me as soon as you know."
"I will, Mr. Di Angelo. Have a good day."
"I wish you the same, Ms. Ramírez."
Percy:
"Dammit, Jason and Leo were supposed to be here thirty minutes ago!" I shouted.
They're always late! This is the latest they've ever been. Jason is a very punctual person. But for the last week or so he's been late. Every. Fucking. Time.
"Perce, it's New York, traffic is tough. They don't live as close to you as I do. It's not their fault they're late. Calm down."
"They could leave earlier!" I retorted. It was true, if they left earlier they would be here on time. Here being my apartment. My apartment is the only place all our instruments fit. Ever since we officially became a band, We meet here every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at four o'clock. It's four forty five.
"You know Jason works a lot. He could have been helping his aunt with stuff too. Jason is Leo's ride so he's gonna be late with him." Frank kept trying to calm me down.
"But still! If this wasn't gonna fit with the rest of his schedule then he should have said so when we decided meeting times!" I yelled.
Frank gave me a funny look. "When did you become such a logical thinker?" He said sarcastically.
I shot him an unimpressed look. "Ha ha. Very funny." I said mocking him, "They better have a good excuse." My lips were pursed and I had my eyebrows furrowed.
"I'm sure they do. But don't bite their heads off as soon as they get here, let them explain. Everyone runs late sometimes. I'm sure they wouldn't be this late for no reason. Ok?" Frank said in a calm voice. Frank is a good guy, anytime any of us get a little frustrated, he knows how to calm us down. Now that I think about it Jason does the same thing. Me and Leo are kind of the crazy unpredictable ones. We all balance each other out, you know? We're best friends, no matter how late they are. That doesn't mean it won't irritate me, but I'll get over it.
"Ok. Thanks Frank." I said giving him a small smile.
"No problem. Come on, let's finish setting up." Frank smiled back.
The only thing we really had to set up was Leo's drum set. Then we decided to make some sandwiches, it all took about twenty minutes. After we were done, we just sat on the couch and waited. I was hoping they would be here soon.
Then there was a knock on the door. Finally.
"It's open!" I yelled. The door swung open and Leo, Jason, and Reyna stepped in.
"I'm so sorry guys, Reyna called me last minute and said she wanted to talk to us all about something." Jason said sounding slightly out of breath.
"It's fine, what did you want to talk to us about, Reyna?" Frank replied. Reyna rarely ever came to practices so, I knew it had to be important.
"I think you guys are gonna want to sit down." Reyna sounded really excited. The suspense was killing me. We all sat on my couch and Reyna stood in front of us.
