“Hey, grab me a Pepsi?” Aleks called as he heard rustling in the kitchen from his comfy spot on the couch in the den of the Creature House.

James walked into the room a few moments later, holding two soda cans. He attempted to pick up the TV remote from the ground, but fumbled with the cans in his hands.

“Here—let me help—” Aleks slid off of the couch and onto his knees, easing the Pepsi’s out of James’s grip so that he could grab the remote.

“Thanks,” James grunted with a small smile, looking up to catch Aleks’s eyes—but neither looked away. James’s smile twitched slightly as he looked into Aleks’s pensive face.

Aleks carefully set down the sodas, his honey-colored irises never straying from James’s chocolate ones. His lips parted slightly, as though to ask a question, but his jaw snapped back shut with an audible click of his teeth as he broke the stare, looking off to the side.

James put down the remote, smile fading. “Aleks…?”

Without warning, the Russian turned back, eyes closed, and pressed his lips gently to James’s for a split second before pulling away.

Aleks’s long eyelashes caught the light as he slowly opened his eyes again, and James was suddenly struck with just how pretty Aleks was. No wonder the fan girls all went crazy for him. The room around them was poorly lit and shabby, but Aleks’s face was bright and beautiful, peering at him with a caution and innocence that James would have never expected of his friends.

His voice finally came to life after its slight awe-induced sleep. “What was that for?” The words weren’t anything poetic or ground-breaking, but James tried to convey the fondness and pure joy he’d felt during the short kiss in the question.

Aleks smiled slightly. Message received, then. “I just wanted to make sure…you know, that yesterday wasn’t…it.

James let himself sink into a more comfortable sitting position on the ground than the kneel he’d been stuck in. “What do you mean, it?”

Aleks mimicked James’s criss-cross apple sauce position, his hand scratching at the back of his neck in the nervous tick that was James had seen so often lately. “I mean…I mean that I don’t want this to be over. I don’t want it to be just…sex, and that’s it, and it’s done and gone and over with.” He blushed, ducking his head. “I know, I know, I sound like…like a teenage girl or something, being all sappy…” He shuffled as though he was going to get up and walk away, but James reached out and took the hand that was still hanging at Aleks’s side in his own.

“First of all, there’s no way I’d mistake you for a girl, with how you were yesterday,” James teased with a wink, which brought a small smile to Aleks’s face and even more blood to his cheeks. “Second of all…I think I’d like that. Going on with this, I mean.”

Aleks visibly relaxed, a relieved smile blooming on his face.

“We can do something. How about…a movie date? Next week?”

“God, we really do sound like teenagers,” Aleks chuckled. “But, yeah. That sounds fun.”

“Now,” James declared, eyes sparkling with humor and the promise of a date, “Your Pepsi is getting warm. Wanna watch some wrestling?”

Eddie giggled silently to himself. He’d excused himself from his chat with Jordan about the Treetopia series to go to the bathroom, but when he heard the murmur of Aleks and James’s voices he hadn’t been able to help doing a bit of sneaky spy work. The thick, insulated wall that separated him and his best friends muffled most of the conversation, but he’d caught some snipets that piqued his interest; “yesterday”, “sex”, “girl”, and, most exciting, “movie date next week”.

It didn’t even bother him that Aleks was confiding in James instead of him about this new girl he’d been going so crazy about, assuming it truly wasn’t Ashley. And if it was, well, he would know soon enough.

If Aleks wouldn’t tell him about his girlfriend, he’d just have to find out by himself.

AN: Sorry it's been so long for this chapter! I was away and stuff...yeah. But I'm back now! ^.^ Sorry that this chapter wasn't very exciting, but y'know...that's life. It's not very exciting sometimes. Haha. Don't worry Jeamus shippers, we're getting closer to your time to shine. Special shout-out to my favorite anon who always asks about the fanfic! I love you very much! :D And everyone else that's sent me such nice messages lately. You guys are awesome <3 Also, I know that the guys recently moved out of the house and into an office, but for story purposes, I'm going to keep the house around for a bit. We'll see if I eventually write the office into it, but no guarentees.
