"Shhh calm down Alex, meg is gonna hear us"
"No she won't, she won't wake up over her own snores"
"Hey!, i don't snore"
"GOOD morning krusty crew" Alex said as he jumped on top of me.
"Good morningg, how'd u sleep?"
"I slept like this" Alex said as he laid down on the bed.
Daryl laughed from the floor and then I realized... he was on the floor.
"Why are you on the floor?" I asked
"I was playing with him" he spoke.
"Well thanks for keeping him busy. This turd doesn't let anYonE SleEP!" I said as I turned over towards Alex and started tickling him.
Out of the corner of my eye I see Daryl standing up and getting clothes out of his bag a smile on his face as he spoke up "Ima' take a shower"
"*sigh* ok we'll be here" I said as I pulled Alex into a hug laying down on the cool mattress. The blankets sprawled around my legs and covering my feet. The air conditioning lightly humming keeping the room cool compared to the Georgia heat. I laid for a good ten minutes and then sighed and turned on my side facing Alex.
"Hi"
"Hi Meghan"
"Are you hunnngry?"
"Kind of."
"Ok do you wanna go eat now, or wait for Daryl?"
"I wanna wait for Daryl"
"Haha ok"
"I like him"
"Yea... I do too"
"Meg..."
"Yeah?"
"Are we gonna leave this place? Are we gonna have to go back outside to the monsters?"
The monsters... you start to forget about them.thinking everything was just a dream. Thinking all your happy moments were your reality, when in reality it's not. "I don't know.." was all I could tell him
"What if we do have to go?...."
"We'll be safe... I'll keep you safe, I promise" I could feel tears form in my eyes and I just pulled Alex into me. This little boy changed everything, I would die for him, he was... like my best friend, like my brother. And I would take a bullet, or a bite, or anything else this mad world could throw at us, for him.
"I love you meg"
"I love you too Alex"
