"How come your sister is back now? You've been away for days, it was crazy! The kids missed you. They refused to go to school, doesn't like Daddy dropping them off." Niall said followed by a little laugh. 

"What'd you do with them then?" "Don't be mad, but the few days that you were off, I took them to Nando's everyday. We did a few things, you know...the carnival, the movies, shopping...which reminds me, I got you a little surprise, just so that you'd forgive me for making them skip school." "You always have something new, really though you know I can never stay mad at you." He started laughing and gave me a little box. I opened it and it was a necklace. "It's gorgeous, thanks, you didn't have to Nialler." "Potato, ah welcome babe. Liam chose it." "He's going to be just like his father, you're doing a great job." Niall wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed me, but the door opened after a while. "Ewwie!" I heard Katrine's little voice. "Kat, come here aunt Bea wants to talk to you." "Who's Aunt Bea mommy? The lady you told me to hug doesn't talk to me. Is that Aunt Bea?" Niall looked and me and whispered, "I'll leave you too alone." "Wait Niall, one thing I've got to say is Brooke can't talk anymore but please go check if she's okay?" He nodded and left. "Ok Kat, listen, I know it'll sound weird to you...but that lady isn't aunt Bea. I'm Aunt Bea. She's my sister." There was a moments' silence then she said, "So who's mommy? That's confusing." I tried explaining to her, but she was way too young. She promised to not call me mom in front of Brooke anymore though, which was a good start."Helpppppppppppppppp!" I heard Niall shout. "Stay here Katrine, I'll be right back. Okay?" I ran out of the room into the kitchen where Niall and Brooke were. "Woah freeze!" She had a knife in her hand and Niall had cushions in both his arms. "Brooke, it's okay. Breathe. Calm down. Just chill a bit. I'm here; you're going to be okay. Come on, give me that knife." I handed it to Niall who looked

scarred for life. "What is going on here?" The phone started ringing. Naks and Liam disappeared right away. "C'mon sis, come sit. We'll have a talk." She grabbed a paper and pen. I sat with her for the next two hours. Niall took the kids out to the park and when they came back we had dinner. It was even quieter than ever. Later that evening, I showed Brooke her room and made sure there's nothing that she could harm herself with. Katrine came in and told her she wanted to stay with Brooke for the night. 

"We're here!" I said after parking the car. When she entered the house, there was a huge smile on her face. "Ready to see Katrine?" she nodded. "Hey babe, you're home!" Niall came and gave me a hug. "Mommyyyy!" said the three toddlers running towards me. "Kat, come here hun." I opened my arms and whispered in her ear, "Mom's home, go give her a hug okay, I'll tell you everything later." She smiled and gave Brooke a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. she had tears in her eyes and she didn't let go for a good 5 minutes.
