Christmas

It was finally the morning of 25th december. She opened her eyes and looked at her phone screen.

Still no text from him.

It had been a week since Ethan had gone for his countryside tour and there were no words from him.

She went down to the living room where the christmas tree stood. Her younger siblings were squealing with happiness as they opened their gifts. Her parents embraced her with a warm hug as the spirit of the day spread through the room.

Kept at a corner was a card with her name typed on the envelope:

Eleanor

She opened it. Inside in newspaper cut outs were written the words:

"Step outside to see your gift ;)"

She walked up to the front door. Her heart beating faster against her rib cage. She held her breath. What was it outside?

Opening the door she saw the darked haired man with turquoise eyes staring up at her. His presence and the smile playing on his lips brought tears of happiness to her eyes..

"Merry Christmas" he said.
