"I'm leaving this week"
Those four words had a stronger impact on her than anything she'd heard before. It was as if a bullet train had rammed into her.
But half of her knew this was supposed to happen anyway.

"Where?" She managed to ask her best friend, despite the internal bleeding she was facing.

Hadn't she lost enough till date already?! The inner her mocked a laugh.

"America"
It had been one month since, her new life at college had began. And within this one month, her new best friend had made her believe that past was past. This was the present. And they both were there to stay.

But all good things, eventually come to an end.

Her insides let out a painful cry but she faked a smile, "I'm so happy for you!"
Life had finally scored another goal. Life: 99, she: 0.
"Too much to take in, right?"
"Yeah"
Her best friend smiled. Then hugged her, "you'll be fine here"
She just nodded a "I know".

There was an uncomfortable pause.

"Why are you telling me this now?" She finally managed to mutter the words that had been pricking her since the news came out.
"Because I didn't want it to be hard on you" she frowned.

If this had been just another moment in a movie, you would've seen her crying. Or maybe them walking out the gates together for the last time.

But this was not any movie.

Before her friend could say anything more, she started walking out of the back door.

After every loss, like always she reminded herself that she'd survive another day, and maybe tomorrow would be the happiest day of her life. All the things she'd lost before, would come back to her tomorrow. For now, she'd manage to live another day.

As she left the college gates and headed towards shelter, she couldn't help mutter the words:
"Well played life, well played"
