"Dear Mommy,

My friends here, Carl and Ed always ask me why my daddy didn't come to visit me, I said I didn't know.Then old Sam (the bully) said that it's because I didn't have one! But I told him that I had you. And that you were my everything.

I'm being the brave and strong boy you asked me to be!

The nanny was telling us a story about a prince and said that everyone had their happily ever after. She told us that everyone grew up to marry the ones they loved. Then Sam started teasing me about how Sally liked me too much and how she thought we'd grow up to marry someday. But I thought that if everyone married the one's they loved then why weren't you too. So I told them that I would grow up and marry you. Because I love you. And I know you love me too.

Also today I asked the nanny here what water in someone's eyes were called, she told me that they were called 'tears' and people had them when they were very sad. Or when they were very happy.

I saw them in your eyes the other day when you came to visit me. I'm sorry you were sad because of me. You know I don't want to make you sad. I know you don't sleep at home properly because you are always so worried about me. I heard the doctor tell you that the other day. Please get some sleep. I don't want you to fall sick (that's what the doctor tells us if we don't sleep)

I promise that when I go back home to you, I won't let you be worried or sad. We can go out and get some ice cream and play at the park. I miss you so much mommy!

When I go back to you, I promise i will never let you go. I love you. :)

Mommy finished reading the letter as a tear or two escaped her eyes. Then she hugged the letter and sat down on the floor of his bedroom and wept like a baby.

Her baby, her Troy had passed away in his sleep at the hospital soon after writing this for her.
