*Audrey's POV*

I couldn't stop looking at the clock. I really just wanted the day to be over with already. I had about 10 minutes left of class, and thank God it was my last period. I was still shaken by what had happened this morning. Why did Noah act that way to me? I mean, it is my business why my parents are arguing. Not his. He always has moments where he can be the sweetest guy, but then he'll completely lose it. Out of all the times he's gotten angry at me, it's never been that bad. He really hurt me. I honestly don't wanna speak to him for a long time. If he even tries to talk to me after school, I don't know what I'm gonna do.

That's when realization hit me. Fuck I need a ride home.

I slipped my phone out of my pocket and clicked on my mom's name, about to send her a text. I was trying to be as secretive at possible, in hopes not to get caught texting, because my teacher absolutely hated it if students used phones in his class.

But...it didn't work.

Suddenly I heard the clearing of a man's voice. "Miss Vaughn, could you please explain to me why you are using your phone in my class?"

I looked up to see Mr. Carter, my teacher, staring at me with disapproving eyes.

"Well I was just--"

"Save it." he interrupted me.

"But you just told me to tell you why I was--"

"I don't care. Give me your phone. You can have it back at the end of the period. Wait no actually, since that's in 5 minutes, you can have a parent pick it up instead."

My jaw dropped. "No, I was texting my mom because I don't have a ride home! My car broke down!"

He rolled his eyes. "Oh I'm so sure," he said sarcastically. "I've heard that excuse way too many times."

"But it's not an excuse!"

"You will have a parent pick it up, or you're not geting it back at all."

I didn't say anything back to him. Today has fucking sucked.

Finally the bell rang and I was ready to get the hell out of there.

I walked to my locker and got my stuff out, slighting slamming the door closed because I was pretty angry. I decided to walk home, because I refused to get in the car with Noah. Hoping not to run into him, I took a different route to exit the school than I usually did.

I made my way out of the school, but of course, he out-smarted me and knew I was gonna try to avoid him, and there he was.

"Audrey..." he began.

"Leave me alone. I do not want to talk to you." I spat.

"Please, just give me a second to explain myself. I'm sorry." I heard no truth in his voice. He wasn't actually sorry.

"I don't wanna hear it. Bye Noah."

"Where are you going?" he asked.

"I'm walking home."

"You can't walk home. It's 85 degrees out here and you live like 10 miles away." he argued.

"I'm pretty sure I cawalk home." Well, of course I didn't want to, but I really did not want to be stuck in a car with him when I was this pissed at him.

"Let me give you a ride home," he urged.

"No."

"Yes."
