I impatiently tapped my foot on the ground, checking the watch Chaos gave me for my 180th birthday.
"Gods." I groaned.
Luke just chuckled at me. "Do you think that this is amusing, Alpha?" I glared at him.
"No, Sir!" He immediately shut up.
I heard footsteps behind me and I turned around with a calm expression. "You are late."
"So?" Neil replied as if he is doing us a favour by gracing us in his presence.
"Look," I said, taking a threatening step forward. "if you want to be the Prince of the Universe, there is no such thing as being late in your vocabulary. His expression faltered. "How did you know what I would ask for if I win?"
"Prince of The Universe, at your service." I bowed down mockingly.
"Fine, let's begin." He scoffed, regaining his composer again.
He might look fearless to other people but I could clearly see through the facade he was putting on.
He was scared.
And all he needed was one push before he went crying to his mommy.
"Don't you want to know what I want if I win?" I asked sweetly, batting my eyelashes.
"With all due respect, your royal highness," Neil smirked. "If you win."
"Right. Of course. How can I forget? You are such a great swordsman. Simply just a threat." I rolled my eyes, thank the gods that I had a cloak.
(A/N the eyes on the cloak will only be visible if the wearer wants them to be revealed. Like in Chapter 4 when Omegulous appeared. He was so angry that his eyes just appeared- like they just had to be shown)
"Was that sarcasm?" He sneered.
"Even if it was, you'd be too stupid to decipher it. The question was enough proof." I rolled my eyes yet again.
By now, Luke went back to sit with the rest of the squad and was watching while eating popcorn.
Wait- how did he even get pop-never mind. I always seem to forget that he is also a son of Hermes... While I was in my little daydream world didn't notice what Neil was up to but my enhanced ears picked up the change in the wind's change of sound.
My hands shot up at lightning speed and I caught the spear he threw.
"Rule number two of being The Prince of The Universe, you do not start a duel when the other is not concentrating, nor do you throw a spear to their hearts when they are obviously not paying the other fighter any mind," I growled.
Neil visibly gulped. "No matter. When I am Prince of the Universe, I will change all these things you call rules."
"Rule number three of being the Prince of The Universe, no changing the rules for personal gain or use. This is fun. And the fact that you think you'd even get the title Prince of the universe if you win. But you wouldn't need to worry about that. "
"Can we just begin already?" He scowled at me, getting into a defensive position.
"Okay," I said, stepping back and letting a mockingly smile appear on my face.
"Alpha!" I shouted. I looked at him and he got the message.
"On One...two..." Luke began counting down. "and three!"
The minute Luke stepped off the duelling area, Neil sped towards me. Seriously? Hasn't this guy heard of battle strategy, or even stalling?
Gods, he is going to take all the fun out of this.
