Chase's POV

After the encounter with Harry, and numerous thoughts of Dani roaming through my head, I decided to get some rest. It was definitely needed.

I checked my phone once more before laying face first in my pillow and enjoying a nice sleep.

When I woke up, I had only then realized that I slept almost all day.

Which counteracted with me missing all of my classes. That's exactly what I needed, on top of all of the current stress, was to be far behind.

I stayed on my bed for another hour, flipping through channels just waiting for a phone call. Something, anything from Dani.

Yet I came up with nothing.

Just as I was about to turn over and go back to sleep, my phone rang. I didn't check the caller ID, mostly because of the adrenaline rush that it might have been Dani on the other line.

"Chase, get dressed. I'll be there to pick you up in an hour. Be ready then."

It sounded like Harry's scruffy voice, so as I checked the caller ID, it confirmed that it was in fact Harry.

"What? Why? Where are w-?"

He ended the call before I could even finish what I was going to say.

I guess it would be the better option to just get ready and figure out where we were going when he takes me there.

As I was just finishing checking my phone, once again, I heard Harry's knock on the door.

I opened the creaky metal door to check that indeed, Harry was standing there. In his sunglasses, and rolled up sleeves. He looked like someone that stepped out of a 70's movie.

A very beautiful someone.

"Are you coming or not?" Harry asked, nodding towards the hallway.

"Yes, but where are we going?"

I followed him out, as we were walking side by side now.

"You'll see." He smirked, while looking straight ahead.

He's very complex. He doesn't quite understand what his mind can do to him, and what emotions he has control over. He doesn't completely understand what kind of person he is.

He is a manipulator. A very smooth, charming, and simple yet very complex manipulator.

But I honestly would not want it any other way.

As we climbed into his car, he went slowly down the streets, admiring our surroundings. As was I.

We pulled to a stop in an old park.

Run down, rusty, muddy, old park.

He stepped around to the passenger side, and opened my door. He grabbed my hand and helped me out, and we walked to the swings.

I sat on one and he sat on the rusty one next to me. It squeaked every time we swung, which got very annoying after a few silenced minutes.

We were in the same pattern, and as we went forward, Harry turned to me.

"Do you believe that love can kill you?" He was now turned back, looking straight ahead.

"I believe everyone thinks they know life. You stand on the edge of things and watch it go by but your not living it. Not really. Just a tourist, a ghost. Then you see it, really see it and it gets under your skin and lives inside you. There's no escape. There's nothing to be done and you know what? That's a good thing. And that's all I've got to say about it." I was still swinging, looking ahead of me.

He was silent for the next five minutes we were swinging.

When he halted to a stop, and got off, I took it as my invitation to follow him to the playground.

He sat at the top of the slides and looked to his left. The city was all but below us, and it was beautiful.

I sat with him, and leaned into him just enough to make my presence known.

It was nice just sitting here, enjoying each others company.

Not having to say anything, start conversation, or have an uncomfortable silence.

It was cliché enough to be perfect.

We sat together for an half an hour, before he got up and helped me up, and we made our way back to his car. It was well below freezing, but that didn't matter then. He was just being nice, and that's all that I wanted from him. Was some hospitality. Or decency.

When he dropped me off, I was getting out of his car and he grabbed my hand. I turned and looked at him, and he only blinked while watching me for a few seconds.

"Kiss me. Just once, just enough to last me."

"Last you for what?"

"Just kiss me. Now."

I leaned over the console, and lingered my lips over his. He closed the gap, and we danced in a stinging rhythm against each other before he pulled away. I hopped down from his car, and made my way back into the dorms.

As I opened the door, a note fell from the crack between the door.

On the front of the folded piece of notebook paper read a name I was very excited, yet terrified to see.
