Chapter 1:A mission for the Sea God

Percy

"Remind me again why I let you drag me along with you,Percy?" Grover asked me as we were trudging in the woods to Rachel's cave.Tyson was trailing behind us clumsily. I was planning to go alone but Grover and Tyson were insistant.

"Okay, first of all I didn't drag you along. You insisted on coming and second, if you're complaining so much then just head back to camp." I grunted as I avoided the branches overhead us. Grover was trying to keep up with me but my demigod ADHD made it hard for me to slow down.

"No way," he panted, "I'm not goin' back. I'm your protector. So I protect you.". I smiled at my bestfriend's feigned courage. I knew that Grover was trying to avoid going to Rachel's cave. Tyson caught up to Grover and put his hand on Grover's shoulder.

"Don't worry,Grover. No need to be afraid of Rachel. She's our friend."Tyson encouraged. His speech had improved over the summer and he's been refraining from calling himself Tyson in every sentence. Grover whimpered and Tyson snickered. Grover didn't hate Rachel or anything but he absolutely hated it whenever she had premonitions. He was scared of the whole two voices talking at once and the sickly green smoke that swirled around the girl.

"Rachel is not that scary. She doesn't mean to be like that ,she just is. She's our friend, Grover." I explained to him and he sighed. I could tell that he did feel kind of bad for being afraid of Rachel. She was after all the Oracle of Delphi, an incredible honour bestowed unto her by Apollo, the cocky and perfectly tanned, God of the Sun and Prophecies.

"You're right.Let's get a move on.We wouldn't want Poseidon to get impatient."Grover said resigned.Poseidon gave me strict orders to find something for him. I was told that it was important and crucial. Poseidon didn't give much details but he said that the Oracle would help me. And so we set out to do as he asked. I was suspicious at first but I could tell that whatever the problem was, it saddened my dad greatly. And I simply had to do something about that.

"Rachel?" I called as soon as we stepped into the excellently decorated cave where the Oracle resided. My voice bounced of the cave walls and our footsteps echoed throughout the cave.

"I'm in here, Percy." Rachel answered and we headed further into the cave. We found Rachel sitting crosslegged on the floor as if she were waiting for us .She was meditating or something.

"Hey,guys. What brings you here?"  Rachel greeted us as we sat down on the floor in front of her.

"Poseidon gave me a task. He said you could help me get started." I told her and Rachel nodded.

"A quest. So tell me what exactly did your dad say?" she asked me.

"He said that I had to find something that was crucial to the survival of a race. He said I had a week from now till the Summer solstice. That's when I need to bring the something to Oceana." I explained as carefully as I could and Rachel straightened in realization.

"Of course. The Summer solstice!" she gasped. I edged forward and looked Rachel in the eye.

"Do you know what he's talking about, Rachel?" I inquired anxiously and Rachel looked at me weakly.

"I'm sorry, Percy. I can't...see... Something's blocking me. But I can try to get you started." Rachel apologised. I nodded eagerly. I needed all the help I could get.

"Please." I begged. Rachel closed her eyes and breathed in. Grover tensed and whimpered slightly. Suddenly, Rachel opened her eyes which caused Grover to let out a squeak.
