Chapter 3: Hidden Agendas
Arianni
All these years I was careful. All these years I ran. How did they find me? I kept asking myself this as I loaded my stuff on the boat. I was dressed in white jean shorts that showed off my nicely toned long legs(if I do say so myself), an aqua silk tanktop which showed my curves perfectly, diamond stud earrings and white gladiator sandals. If I was going back down there I might as well look good.
I was waiting for the boys to finish changing into fresh clothes. I didn't sleep at all the previous night. I was too occupied with thinking about them. The people I left behind. The people I missed so terribly. I don't even know what to say to them when we finally meet again. My thoughts were interrupted by the boys' footsteps rumbling down the docks. I looked up and my eyes immediately met Percy's. His eyes reminded me so much of Poseidon. Oh, how I miss those eyes. I gave him a warm smile which he returned with a shy one.
Don't get attached Arianni, I scolded myself. No matter what happens, I cannot endanger his life too. I got off the boat and waited for them to reach me. Grover, the satyr, couldn't stop gawking at me. I was used to it ever since I ran away. Men always fell prey to my dazzling beauty but I never paid them any heed. Well, with the exception of one. I was just simply beautiful. And I knew that.
"Good morning, boys." I greeted them and they all gave me distracted nods. I looked at what they were staring at which were my clothes.
"Is something wrong?" I asked worriedly. Tyson and Grover shook their heads while Percy continued assessing my ensemble.
"Don't you look a bit too good for a boat ride?" Percy pointed out and I smiled widely.
"Yes, I do. Arianni Poseies doesn't settle for adequate." I reasoned smoothly and they took that in consideration. They boarded the small yacht and we cast off.
"Okay, guide. Where are you taking us?" Percy asked and I took a deep breath before replying. I thought I would never have the reason to mention the place again but alas...
"Oceanae."
Percy
Arianni was awfully silent as we continued to sail towards the directions she gave us. Apparently she could read navigational latitudes too. I started to wonder if she was a demigod child of Poseidon too but that would make her my sister and Poseidon would've told me. I dismissed the silly idea and tried to turn my attention on something else.
Tyson was snoring away as he leaned against the railings of the boat while Arianni was sitting at the front deck somewhat absentmindedly thinking about something. Grover on the other hand was doing something rather odd. He was leaning down into the water and looked like he was trying really hard to see something.
"What in the Gods' names, are you doing, Grover?" I asked fed up and Grover jerked upright and stared at me as if I had a rainbow coming out of my ears or something.
"Looking for treasure, duh!" he exclaimed and I just continued staring at him in bewilderment.
"Why exactly are you looking for treasure?" I asked again getting irritated. He sighed dreamily and looked up to the heavens smiling.
"So that I'll get to meet her." he breathed the last word in delight. Who, Juniper? Why would he see Juniper in the middle of the ocean?
"Who are you talking about?" I was getting impatient to get to Oceanael so my mood wasn't at its best today. Grover looked straight at me with that goofy smile still plastered on his face.
