Chloe's P.O.V.

BOOM
I cover my head with my pillows.
BOOM
The explosion shakes the house and I slowly sit up and yawn.
"Ugh. What is it this time?" I think as I get out of my bed and slip on my gecko slippers.
I shuffle over to the window and slowly open the blinds. A sliver of sun comes through the curtains and I squint at it.
I yawn again, then approach my closet.

"No. No. Maybe. Eh, good enough." I say as I rifle through my clothes and pull out a sweatshirt with a little robin on it. I go to my dresser and pull out a pair of jeans. After slipping some fuzzy socks on and grabbing my phone, I slip out of my room and downstairs. Shannon's already in the kitchen, of course, making some type of omelet. I slip into a chair in front of the counter and knock on the marble.

"Get me a mug of mint tea, please?" I say tiredly.

"Right on it." She says and shoots me with pretend finger guns.

I roll my eyes and check my phone. New text from my contractors.

"Ugh. Make that two please." I ask.

Shannon turns and raises an eyebrow, but doesn't say anything. I swipe through my emails when I feel a shudder under my feet.

"What IS that?" I question.

Shannon sighs "They're messing around downstairs again. I told 'em to stay away from the explosives, but of course they didn't listen. You wanna go get 'em while I fix up your tea?"

I nod and grab a piece of toast slathered in Nutella then head into the basement. When I get down the stairs, I'm suffocated by the smoke.

"NO! NOT THAT ONE! WATCH OUT!"

BOOM

"Idiot! We might have needed that!"

I wave the smoke away from my eyes and squint into the haze.

"Aidan? Patrick? What the hell guys!?!?"

They freeze like deers in headlights and turn towards me.

"Ohhhh, hey Chloe! Ha ha. Oh, these? Ha, these are nothing, don't worry!" Patrick says guiltily.

Aidan just slowly creeps away and hides some of the grenades. I glare at each of them, then grab their shirt collars and drag them upstairs. When we get to the door, they wrench free.

"Why can't we stay downstairs!" Aidan asks defiantly.
I grin evily.

"Shannon wants to see you."
