Chapter 1 : The New Beginning

Chapter 1's Prologue :

A few days before Neal came to Earth, he asked King Yama that he wanted to live a human life. Yama first disagreed with Neal’s idea, and tried to explain it to him that that isn’t a good idea to go down to earth. But finally he had to agree as Neal promised him that he wouldn’t do anything that would bring wrath upon himself or anyone else. But Yama had a few terms that he wanted Neal to agree to before he could make the final decision.

“Okay, I will let you go down to Earth, but only if you agree to follow the rules that I am now going to put.”, said Yama.

Neal knew that rules weren’t going to be fun, but he also knew that rules could always be broken. The only thing on his mind was to go to Earth. So he told Yama that he was ready to agree to any terms.

Then Yama started talking, “ Neal, I tried explaining to you that that isn’t a good idea. But you are very stubborn, just the way your mother was. And I cannot really not give you what you want, as you’re my only nephew, my only heir. But I cannot let you hurt yourself or the people from earth. So, I have these rules for you.”

“Okay, uncle, can we please cut all this parent-child part and jump to the part where you send me to earth? I promise I’ll follow all the rules that you will put.” interrupted Neal sarcastically.

  “That’s what I thought you would say. So I already made Chitragupta prepare a rulebook for you. CHITRAGUPTA..!” called out Yama.

Chitragupta then entered as Yama called him. “ Hello young master.” he said to Neal.

“What?! A rulebook? No Way! I am not going to take a book which is filled with crappy rules.”, said Neal angrily.

“Okay, you don’t need to take it, just have a look at the rules.”, said Yama.

Neal took the rules to have a look at them. The rules were listed in the following way.

“                                                        RULES

1)      Chitragupta will go along with you and stay with you during your stay on earth.

2)      You can go and have fun for a week, but after that you have to settle down at a place called ‘Crystalmont’ and attend high school over there.

3)      You will not access your actual form, and only will use a human form as long as you’re on earth.

4)      You will not tell anyone about your past life (this life) and just to make that sure your memory related to this world will be erased partially.

5)      Your powers will be suppressed.

6)      Lastly, you will listen and follow what Chitragupta tells you.

“ Uncle! What the heck did I just read? Chitragupta is going along with me?” as Neal started to complain, Chitragupta interrupted him saying, “ Hey, don’t call me Chitragupta anymore. During my stay on Earth I will be known as Carl Johnson. You know, to go with the changing times?”

“Yeah whatever!” said Neal and started to complain again , “ And what is all with deleting my memory? Have you two lost your heads? And what would be the point of suppressing my powers when I wouldn’t even know that I have powers?”

“Neal, listen, all that I am doing is for your own good. I will only partially take your memory, only some part of it. And you will only remember that you are a normal human being whose parents have been killed in an accident and is living with his guardian Carl. Chitragupta will give you a pendent that you’re supposed to put on all the times, that will act as suppressor that would suppress your powers and don’t worry, I will let you have your 7th sense ability. If you agree to these rules, I will let you leave to earth tomorrow. ” , said Yama.
