sky finally stopped thrashing, only loud sobs were heard.
miller kissed her head and rubbed her back. silent tears fell from his eyes that fell into sky's hair.
a police officer approached them. "hello, i'm officer mark. i'm guessing you're skyler?"
sky nodded her head, scared of opening her mouth.
"your brother saved you. we have been looking for tyler for awhile." officer mark said. "if he didn't call now, you could've died skyler. tyler is a dangerous man."
sky swallowed back the lump in her throat and nodded her head. miller's heart sank. the officer could see bruises, cuts and scars; old and new. "uh, do you have a place to stay skyler? we need to continue investigation in your apartment. we already got someone to pack up your things." sky didn't reply. miller replied, "she can stay with me. thank you." the officer smiled. "i can bring her things and you two can be on your way." miller nodded.
"i can't believe this." sky whispered, thinking no one could hear. miller hugged her tighter and kissed the top of her head.
