"In the beginning, there was only ocean, until the Mother Island emerged, Te Fiti, her heart held the greatest power ever known, it could create life itself, and Te Fiti shared it with the world, but in time, some began to seek Te Fiti's heart, they believed they could possess it, the great power of creation would be theirs, and one day, the most daring of them all, voyage across the vast ocean to take it. He was a demigod of the wind and sea, he was a warrior, a trickster, a shapeshifter, who could change form with the power of his magical fishhook, and his name, was Maui. But without her heart, Te Fiti began to crumble, giving birth to a terrible darkness, Maui tried to escape but was confronted by another, who sought the heart, Te Ka, a demon of earth and fire, Maui was struck from the sky, never to be seen again, and his magical fishhook, and the heart of Te Fiti were lost, to the sea. Where even now, Te Ka and the demons of the deep still hunt for the heart, hiding in the darkness that will continue to spread, chasing away our fish, draining the life of island after island, until everyone of us is devoured in the bloodthursty joy of INESCAPABLE DEATH. But one day, legend tells of a hero who would journey beyond our reef, find Maui, deliver him across the sea to restore Te Fiti's heart and save us all. It is said that you can find Maui if you follow the constellation of his fishhook."

A 16 year old Moana silently crept away from the bushes and approached the shore. She was listening to Gramma Tala as the woman told stories to the young ones, Tala wasn't her grandmother, nor her mother, she simply called her Gramma Tala as a sign of respect to the elder, she approached Gramma Tala and told her:

"I will find Maui."
"Are you sure dear?"
"Yes."

Gramma Tala gave her the heart and her locket for safe keeping.

"Be safe young lady, may you save us all."

She was alone, ever since she was at the age of 10, she lived by herself in a small hut near the shore, takes care of herself but always have a heart for her island, Motunui, and the people living in it. Upon hearing the legend, she set a canoe and set out, she wanted to save her island as well as find someone out in the ocean who could love her, not romantically but somehow parental love. Her wish for the universe to give her was to be loved by people, the people of the island treated her like trash. And so, she started her journey.

"(Sigh) If only I wasn't alone."

Moana gently moved over to the sound when a coconut shell popped out, she was shocked at first then carefully lifted the coconut shell.

"Heihei?!"

She covered it again and lifted the coconut shell much to her surprise that her pet and friend was there. Heihei looked from left then right and screamed. Moana covered Heihei's head with the coconut shell, then lifted it only to be greeted with another shriek from the rooster, covered his head, lifted the shell, shriek and covered his head again but this time she tried to talk to him that everything is okay and that he will stop shrieking.

"There there, it's okay, your fine."

She lifted the shell and was relieved that he was calm now.

"The ocean is a friend of mine."

Heihei walked towards the end of the boat and fell.

"HEIHEI..?!"

Heihei, popped up upside down which astonished the young girl.
