"Are you alright?"
"Yeah."
"Is something wrong daddy?"
"I said, I'M FINE!"

Maui grabbed Moana, who was approaching him, and threw her off the canoe. He sat on the other side of the canoe clutching his head. Memories haunted him with the picture of his parents when they threw him in the sea. Moana was lifted back to the boat by the ocean and she kept silent. She went a little far this time. The last 3 weeks with Maui had ups and downs, but this was different. When it comes to personal problems, Maui doesn't think straight, she shouldn't have pissed him off. Surely when she was in his place, she certainly didn't want to talk about it.

"You don't wanna talk, don't talk, you wanna throw me off the boat, throw me off, if your gonna tell me, I don't know what I'm doing, I know I don't. I have no idea why the ocean chose me. It's just me and you and that I want to help, but I can't if you don't let me. Fine, I'll shut up, I just wanted my daddy back."

Moana started tearing up, she turned away and stayed silent.

"As I told you, I wasn't born a demigod, I had human parents, they uh, take well look, and decided, they did not want me. They threw me into the sea, like I was... nothing. Somehow, I was found by the gods, they gave me the hook, they made me... Maui. And back to the humans I went, I gave them islands, fire, coconuts, hehe, anything they could ever want."
"You took the heart for them, you did everything for them, so they would love you."
"It was never enough."

Moana stood up and sat next to him, resting her head on his shoulder.

"Maybe the gods found you for a reason, maybe the ocean brought you to them, because it saw someone who was worthy of being saved. But, the gods aren't the ones who make you Maui, you are."

She stood again and watched the sun fell over the horizon. Mini Maui hugged Maui and Maui let out a soft chuckle.

"Okay okay, I love you too buddy."

Maui took a glance at his fishhook and grabbed it, which astonished Moana. Moana smiled. The next few days, Maui got the hang of his fishhook again. He trained Moana more on how to be a wayfinder.

"Daddy?"
"Yes?"
"Where would we stay when this mission is over?"
"I don't know."
"I have no where to go any more. If I go back to Motunui, I'll just be alone, like from the start."
"Were not going to Motunui, I was actually planning on something, but I need to talk to Te Fiti."
