Chapter 4:

The plan worked perfectly and no one said a word to me. I grabbed my stuff and Mikey showed me to my room. After that I thanked him angrily and then slammed the door in his face. I set my things down on the bed against the wall with a sigh. I cast a protection spell to protect me from the view of others. Then I went and looked for cameras and bugs just to be sure. I found two cameras and a few bugs.

Donnie was very thorough when it came to this kind of thing it seemed. I bet the other rooms had the exact thing in them but I didn’t care I needed my privacy. I stripped off the black body suit and changed into a turtle. I laid the suit down and opened the door as I heard another door slam. That had to be Raph coming in. I shut the door and looked around the room. I found two doors one to a closet the other to a bathroom. I entered it making sure I shut and locked the door behind me. I stepped into the shower I shifted back into my human form.

After I finished my shower I stepped out and grabbed a towel. I dried myself off and looked in the mirror. I wrapped the towel around me. I placed another one around my hair. I stepped out of the bathroom to see a note sitting on the nightstand.

Dear El,

         I think you’re cool.

         We should skateboard together

        sometime.

                               Secret Sweetheart <3

I smiled. Is this from Raph? He doesn’t really seem the skateboarding type to me. All I wanted right then was sleep. I switched forms again and slipped under the covers leaving the towels on the floor.

The bodies were everywhere. I was surrounded by bodies. A slimy liquid lay near them. I heard some small voices they circled me.

“Water please, water,” one voice kept saying.

Then I was in that house again it was on fire. The Kraang’s brethren lay around in death. I saw my parents’ bodies. My mother’s chest rose shakily. I approached carefully stepping over dead Kraang. Why must there be so much destruction in a place such as this?

“Ellie, come here my child,” my mother’s voice rang out above the roaring flames. I leaned down beside her getting on my knees. “This was all part of his great plan you know. You have such a journey ahead of you darling. Your life will change the world. Your father and I are just two people helping you on your way. We are always with you. We love you Ellie.” Mom’s hand was against my face. She caressed my cheek in her palm in the way most mothers do. Tears slid down my face. “Now, now, no need for that. There’s a world out their waiting for you.”

Her hand fell limp and I wept. Then there was an explosion.

I was surrounded by bodies again. I felt so alone then beside me a four turtles appeared. “Were in this together El. We started it together and now we’ll finish it that way.”

I shot out of bed. Droplets of sweat had gathered on my brow. I looked at my wrist before I realized I wasn’t wearing my watch. I needed to go home. It was time for me to go home. I can’t stay here any longer. The closer I get to these people the harder life will be if I let my vision come true. I turned into a human again and placed the suit back on before gathering my things. I rushed out of the room. I didn’t run into anyone they were probably all still sleeping it seemed very early in the morning but I had fate to struggle with. My fate, we all want to change our fate.

I rushed out of the sewers and back topside. Oh the human race how fond I am of it. The humans they are very finicky creatures. Unable to accept anything they don’t understand.

I crawled up the fire escape to my apartment window. It looked like it had been ransacked. The furniture tipped over. I went in without even thinking and stood on the floorboards. Blood, blood was all over them. There were handprints blood red handprints. I ran into my sister’s room.         I found her lying on the bed her throat slit and body stabbed multiple times. “Maple, Maple!” I shook her shoulders trying to wake her up but I knew it was no use she was dead. Her eyes stared lifelessly at me. I reached out my hand and closed the lids. “No,” I screamed my anguish overtaking my body. “I will avenge you Maple. Those bastards will pay.” I looked to see a dagger stuck into a wall holding up a piece of cloth with the bloody handprint on it. I’d seen that sign so many times. It was even there when the Kraang killed my family. Whoever killed my sister killed my parents too. Something my mother said comes to mind. She told me of acts of passion and revenge.

She looked at me and said, “Revenge my daughter is a losing game. In the end you got what you wanted but you will always feel empty inside. Nothing can bring back what you have loved.”

“Well mother I won’t avenge her then. I’ll just help stop them. I’ll make them stop what they are doing. If the assassins want to assassinate people we’ll just have to assassinate the assassins first. I will not let another person perish at their hands. I became this way for a reason and now I’m going to use it to help the world.”

I stalked to my room to find everything turned over. They came for her and I, but I was no where to be found. They probably tortured her for information too. I found everything I needed clothes, weapons, tools, and anything else I might need. I looked around for more evidence to help me. I took pictures of everything using my professional camera and my phone. I’ll move them to my computer for evidence. I hear a knocking sound on the window. I turn around quickly to see a familiar group of turtles. I open the window and motion for them to come inside.

“El what happened,” Leonardo asked looking at me eyes full of concern.

“Well someone sent assassins after my sister and I or they could’ve been acting on my own.” I walked towards my sister’s bedroom avoiding the blood on the floor. “Any of you seen this symbol before?” I snapped another picture just in case. The boys shook their heads except for Donatello.

“I have in some alleys around the city. I don’t remember where exactly. I just no it was more towards the older inner city area. Along with once in China town,” he looked at it closely. “Why would someone waste such an exquisite dagger?”

“It’s quite an antique that’s for sure.”

“Here I’ll,” Michael Angelo reached out to grab it. I slapped his hand away.

“Don’t touch it the last thing I need you to do is contaminate the crime scene. We’ll let the landlord find her body along with everything else. I left a few shirts behind so they’ll think I was taken.”

“You want them to think you've been kidnapped? Won’t they find your fingerprints on the crime scene,” Raphael questioned.

“That’ll make it appear there was more struggle. It’s time for me to start treating this the way it really is a case the cops have no leads on. These people killed my parents and my sister I want to stop them before they kill anyone else.”

“You want to get even with them?”

“No I don’t want revenge it’s something more than that I want to stop them all of them. I want to bash some heads and spill some blood. It’s time to put the red dress on and get a little dirty.”

“That’s sounds like a good time to me Ellie,” Raph winked at me. “Red is my favorite color after all.”

I punched him playfully. “Try anything and I promise that I will decapitate you.”

“Yes ma’am.”

“Let’s get back to the lair guys,” Leo motioned towards the window seriously. We exited through the window climbing stealthily down the building. I was going to live in the sewers for a while it seemed.
