Chapter 7

The boys looked at each other each for a while. Leo seemed the angriest out of all of them which was unusual. Mikey finally spoke up breaking the silence, "I'm going with her. She says she doesn't need help but I don't believe her. She held that meeting because she wanted our advice and assistance. All the ones she loves have been murdered. Imagine what that would be like. What it would be like to lose your brothers or Sensei. It would eat you up inside and you would wonder if there was anyway you could have prevented it. So I'm going."

"Mikey you can't go. She said she didn't want us to go. She wanted to do this on her own," Leonardo said as he looked at his youngest brother. "Plus she can do this on her own she's more skilled than any normal person out there on the street. I bet she could take out fifty foot ninja without any assistance."

"I don't care if she can take out fifty foot ninjas on a normal night. Tonight isn't a normal night. She recently found her sister dead in her apartment. She's probably eating herself up inside wondering why she didn't stay home that night. Thinking she could have saved her sister. Plus, she's family now and we take care of our family. We protect our family. I'm going and none of you can stop me." Mikey stormed out of the room while his brothers watched him go.

Donatello looked at his brothers before starting to go as well, "Mikey's right Eleanor needs us more than ever now. We're all she's got besides her uncaring brother who she doesn't like. I would be distraught if I lost any of you. Wouldn't you be distraught if you lost me? Leo you are just being insensitive I'm not going to let you treat her like another one of your basket cases that don't mean anything to you at all. Not only is she like us being hit with the mutagen and she's a turtle. You keep saying you want to be a leader Leo but you'll never be like Captain Ryan if you don't care about anyone but yourself. Your friends, family, and team mates should come before your own life. So I'm going too." Donatello left running down the sewer tunnel and up to the rooftops towards El's apartment.

"I'm guess you're going to leave me too Raph?"

"Yes I am because I care about her. She's our friend Leo and she'll always be there for us even if we aren't for her because she cares about all people and all living things. She cares about our interests and our interpersonal relations."

"But she's just another girl Raph don't you see she's just going to up and leave us once she gets what she wants," Leo pleaded.

"No Leo she's not like that. Can't you see that she's more dedicated to her friends than April ever was? She's not a double dealing witch like Karai either. She's different Leo can't you feel it? Or have you let your heart become so calloused you're going to give up the hero gig?"

"Maybe I just don't like her."

"Oh you do like her I can tell. Remember you're the one who invited her to visit us in the first place."

"Fine I'll come but I won't like it," Leo said.

They left and ran across the rooftops catching up to Donatello just as Mikey slipped into the apartment. "He does realize he's probably going to end up getting knifed doesn't he," Raph asked watching Mikey.

"Nah El probably won't notice he's there. Mikey's the best at stealth remember except when he's with you. He stops being so stealthy then because he wants to annoy him it's quite funny actually," Donatello replied as he prepared to enter the apartment.
