Harry was popular. (Y/n) wasn't. They had been really close when they were younger, but (Y/n) moved away during middle school. Harry thought of her every day. During the rest of middle school, Harry became popular among the ladies. Being a Brit (I think that's what he is?? He sounds British to me so...) with his wild naturally red hair, there wasn't a time a girl wasn't on his arm. He wasn't a fan of the attention, but being a sweetheart of a guy, he couldn't tell them to leave him alone. On his second year of High School, Harry had grown a little over 6'0, making ladies want him more.

You, on the other hand, weren't as popular. You were beautiful, but not in the way that guys like. You refused to be easy, you had standards and wouldn't let anyone bring you down. Your friends enjoyed you the way you were. From your graphic tees, to the converse on your feet. Everything about you was special in your own way. During middle school you moved away from your best friend, breaking your heart in the process. Luckily it was your last year of school, and you finally got to move back to your home. You had chosen to live with your dad, which means you'll be right next door to Harry again. Which was a relief, because living in England wasn't easy for you. So many things there confused you as an American, but you were seriously happy to be back in America. In your beautiful little hometown of (town name).

*Reader-chan's pov*

I had finally finished unpacking everything, happy to finally have that finished.

"Hey there sweetie." Dad said, poking his head through the doorway. "Looks good in here, I might have you redecorate my room."

I laughed at dad's silly joke, shaking my head. "No way pops, I'm pooped."

He smiled. "Can't blame me for trying, you know who would like to see you?"

I shook my head again. "No, but I'm sure you're going to tell me."

"That little boy you used to hang out with all the time, he still lives next door."

I smiled. He was talking about Harry.

"I guess I could pay him a visit really quickly..." I said slipping out the door.

I excitedly ran down the hall, nearly running into the wall.

"oof-"

Okay, so maybe I did run into the wall... But that isn't the point. The point is, I was finally home and my best friend was sitting next door unaware of me.

I happily ran out the door after rubbing my face for what felt like 15 minutes. Walls hurt guys, like, a lot.

I calmed myself down, a sudden wave of nervousness washing over me. Harry was just beyond my reach, yet he was as close as he could be. I brushed it off, walking to the door and knocking.

I stood in place, fidgeting with the hem of my Nirvana tee.
"Yes? 'Ello?"

"I-Is Harry home?"

His mother looked at me, before engulfing me in a huge hug. "Oh (Y/n)! It's so nice to see you dear!"

She hurried me in, walking quickly to the stairs. "Harry dear, a friend is here to see you!"

I smiled hearing his footsteps coming down the stairs. I watched as he made his way down. An excited giggle escaped my mouth as he looked up at me. "(Y/n)? What are you doing here?"

"I'm back for good!" I said holding my arms open.

"I-I thought I'd never see you again! Look at how you've grown!" Harry said pulling me into a tight hug.

"Well, you're looking at me now! I missed you!"

Harry lifted me up, a huge smile on his face. "I missed you so much, it's been crazy here (Y/n)! Crazy! I'm so glad to have one of the only sane people I know back in my life."

"It's good to be back, I know what you mean. London was amazing, but I stayed lost haha."

Harry's mother was walking back, a camera in her hand. "Well let's get a picture of you two! Like we did before (y/n) left.

I smiled. "I'm down."

Harry nodded, standing behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist like the last picture. I blushed, he was definitely more muscular than before.

*Harry's POV*

"Oh (y/n)! It's so nice to see you dear!"

I hear my mom downstairs talking to someone, I think she said (Y/n) but that wasn't the case, (y/n) moved away years ago.

I could hear footsteps downstairs, I grew more curious by the minute. "Hary dear, a friend is here to see you!"

I was walking down the stairs, a million thoughts running through my mind. I heard a cute giggle when I looked up. I couldn't believe my eyes, there in front of me was (Y/n). "(Y/n)? What are you doing here?"

"I'm back for good!" she said holding her arms open.

I wanted to run into them and lift her off the ground, but I didn't.

"I-I thought I'd never see you again! Look at how you've grown!" I told her, pulling into a tight hug that I never wanted to end.

"Well, you're looking at me now! I missed you!"

I lifted her off the ground, a huge smile on my face. "I missed you so much, it's been crazy here (Y/n)! Crazy! I'm so glad to have one of the only sane people I know back in my life."

"It's good to be back, I know what you mean. London was amazing, but I stayed lost haha."

My mom was walking back in, a camera in her hand. "Well let's get a picture of you two! Like we did before (y/n) left.

(Y/n) smiled. "I'm down."

I nodded, standing behind her and wrapping my muscular arms around her waist. She blushed, causing me to smile at her. I rested my chin on the top of her head. I missed her, and now that she was back, I had to make sure I didn't lose her again.

The flash went off, blinding us both in the process. "Still flashy I see." (Y/n) said giggling.

"Do you want to go for a ride?" I asked her, hoping she would say yes to my offer.

"I would love to." She smiled at me.

*TIMESKIP OF COURAGE*

Today was your first day back at (name) High School, you were nervous and excited at the same time.

Things were gonna change later that day, you could just feel it in your stomach.
