2 weeks later
Our protagonists had now been at the school for 2 weeks and were settling in nicely. They managed to make up one of the lunches they had missed but immediately after all went to their new friends/clubs. Humail and Sophie fit in well with the cooking club getting to know Jin, Kyungsoo, Sulli and Hyelin. Steph, of course, spent her time with Kai, Lay and met more members of the dance club. She now knew Hoseok, Luna, Jimin, Jessica and Hyoyeon. But, she found herself closest with Hoseok at the minute. Laila spent her lunches at the art club and came across Wooshin often. They talked occasionally but only if Wooshin had anything to say about her art. She hadn't come across Jungkook in a while, however. Abbie felt at home with the music club getting to meet the other members. She was friends with Chanyeol, Baekhyun, Chen, Tiffany, Hani and Sunyoul. Having a closer link with Chanyeol after the project.
The projects went good for Abbie, Laila and Steph but, Humail felt overworked and Sophie and Solji had a presentation each since they could not work together.
The 5 all sat in their separate classes, each being informed about their annual camping trip coming up. Of course, all 5 were very interested but there were limited spaces. Some of those spaces had been taken up by students with a bad record as it was compulsory. Luckily, however, their principal thought it was a good idea for the 5 to go as it was their first year at the school. In total, there were 16 students going. Those students were:
Abbie, Laila, Steph, Humail, Sophie, Namjoon, Jungkook, Kyungsoo, Chanyeol, Baekhyun, Amber, Sehun, Luna, Jin, Solji and Taeyeon.
The trip was for the weekend, and right now it was Friday. So the 5 had a lot of packing to do.
----
"In tent A, we have Humail, Jin, Jungkook and Namjoon!" The first teacher yelled.
"In tent B, we have Kyungsoo, Chanyeol, Sehun and Baekhyun!" The second teacher read out.
"In tent C, we have Sophie, Steph, Luna and Solji!" The third teacher shouted.
"Then lastly, in tent D. We have Taeyeon, Laila, Amber and Abbie!" The third teacher yelled straight after.
There was a range of reactions from the students as the names got called out. A lot of glares were sent between them and there were also a few high-fives. The biggest reactions, however, came from tent A and tent D. Abbie and Laila had been at the school long enough to know who Taeyeon and Amber were and their reputations.
"At least we have each other?" Laila tried to look at the bright side of things.
"Yeah. And two brats in our tent," Abbie muttered.
From tent A, Jungkook and Namjoon were trying their best to hold their anger in. They have had a feud for who knows how long, and there has always been an awkward tension between the two. The fact that they had just been put in a tent together didn't help. Nevertheless, everyone had to get on and set up their tents so they had somewhere to sleep.
---
After setting their tents up, they were given time to socialise. This meant everyone went back to their own little groups while the teachers set up the first challenge. Humail, Jin, Sophie and Kyungsoo had already found their own little corner. Chanyeol, Baekhyun and Abbie sat in tent B. Steph and Luna sat under a tree. Laila was being bothered by Sehun.
Steph and Luna were just casually talking when Luna's phone vibrated for the tenth time.
"Aren't you gonna get that?" Steph asked Luna while pointing to her phone.
"It's probably just Kris again," Luna sighed turning her phone off.
"Kris. Is that the name of your ex?" Steph already knew the answer, but asked anyway.
"Yep," Luna's tone was solemn as she spoke.
"This guy must really be hung up on you," Steph joked.
"He's so annoying. He doesn't get that we're done," Luna vented her problems to Steph.
"Don't worry. When I see him, he'll get it," Steph laughed to lighten up the mood.
---
Considering their tent was the only peaceful one, Chanyeol and Baekhyun invited Abbie over. Every other tent had some sort of conflict and it was exactly what they wanted to avoid. Plus, it was quiet enough for Chanyeol to actually to hear his guitar. He sat there strumming while Baekhyun was opening a crisp packet. Abbie was watching Baekhyun fail until he eventually threw the crisp packet across the tent.
"Do we have any chocolate?!" Baekhyun sighed regretting his decision of throwing the packet across the room.
"Are you sure you can open it?" Chanyeol joked.
"Ha ha. Very funny," Baekhyun replied putting his hand forward to collect the chocolate Chanyeol pulled out. Chanyeol and Abbie watched as Baekhyun attempted to open the chocolate.
"Here, pass it to me," Abbie extended her arm towards Baekhyun. He hesitated and handed it to her. With one swift motion, Abbie opened the chocolate. Baekhyun watched in awe while Chanyeol started laughing.
"Seriously man?" Chanyeol asked Baekhyun.
"My hands were oily," Baekhyun retorted, taking a bite of his chocolate happily.
"Whatever you say..." Chanyeol went back to strumming his guitar.
---
Under a tree sat Sophie, Humail, Jin and Kyungsoo who were complaining to one another about their tents.
"I hated working with her on the project and now I have to sleep in the same tent as her?" Sophie vented about Solji.
"I don't know half of what's going on in my tent but it doesn't look good," Humail referred to the feud between Namjoon and Jungkook.
"You don't want to know," Jin sighed, looking at the ground sadly.
"My tent's okay," Kyungsoo said, nodding to himself. He then looked around at the sad faces. "But Chanyeol snores." Kyungsoo tried to make his situation sound bad.
"I swear to god if Solji snores I am moving in to one of your tents," Sophie muttered.
"Well. I snore so it sucks for them," Humail tried to make a joke. "Hope you don't mind Jin." Humail looked towards Jin who looked sadder than ever.
"Don't worry Jin. Everything will be okay," Kyungsoo knew the story and patted his friend on the back.
---
"Have you made any friends yet?" Sehun was genuinely curious as he followed Laila around the camp.
"Why does it matter so much to you?" Laila had so far been asked 10 different questions by Sehun, and every time she walked away he would follow.
"Because you look like you're alone," Sehun pointed out the obvious.
"Straightforward much," Laila muttered under her breath.
"What was that?" Sehun moved closer so he could hear what she said.
"N-nothing," Laila didn't like how close he was to her.
What these two didn't know was that, in the distance, Amber, a girl who had once confessed her feelings to Sehun and was rejected, was watching. Amber had been affected by the rejection badly and seeing Sehun so close to one of the new girls made her blood boil.
"Time for activity 1!" One of the teachers yelled. Everyone got up and made their way over.
