"Where are we going?" I worry as I stomp after Eric who walks ahead of me, shoving through tree branches and shrubs in our way.

I do not like this. I especially do not like being here, near the area that I was almost eaten by some humans. It's pitch black as well, which only feeds my fear.

"You'll see." He simply replies and I groan out loud.

"What if they come? What if they attack us?"

"Factionless have nothing on us." He smirks and I roll my eyes. If we were to be attacked, Eric has no weapons and he can't exactly run with his leg still healing.

"You didn't see the guy. He was three times the size of you. We wouldn't be able to fight him." I argue, nearly falling on a log that I didn't see.

"Then we die together." He says and I can tell he is not taking me seriously.

"Seriously Eric, I want to go back. I feel unsafe and scared." I stop walking, forcing Eric to turn around.

"Skye, trust me. You'll love this." He grabs my hands as he speaks, and I frown. "Come on, Softie." I'm caught off guard by the sound of my old nickname. It has been so long since Eric has called me that, that I had completely forgotten that I used to be soft. It's hard to believe after seeing myself. "I doubt it, but fine." I give in.

We venture out for several more minutes until I can hear the sound of water splashing against rocks. I feel my mood lift up a little when I smell fresh water. I guess Eric might be right. I might actually love this.

"What is this place?" I ask as I catch up to him, standing next to his right shoulder and overlooking the mountainous waterfall that leaks into a wide lake. The water looks black in the night but shimmers in the moonlight.

"I don't know, but we found it while we were looking for you."

I smile, imagining Eric trying to find me. "Did you... Did you think I was dead?"

Eric turns to me, his hand under my chin. I look up into his eyes and he shakes his head.

"No. I never have. I know you're strong, and that you're a fighter."

I lean closer to him, craving his lips so badly. It's been so long since we have kissed, and the feeling has almost become alien to me again.

But Eric abruptly pulls away teasingly, my head dropping for a second without his hand there to hold it. The cool air breezes through me without his body in front of me to block it.

"Come on, let's do this."

I bite my lip as I watch Eric swiftly pull off his black shirt, his abs flexing and his v-line on full display. I can't believe that this is all mine. This gorgeous human being is mine. I can touch him, I can kiss him, anytime I want.

I copy him, shedding my damp clothes until I'm completely in the nude. I feel so free and refreshed being this exposed out in the wilderness, where anyone can see. And it somewhat turns me on.

The water is freezing cold but I don't care. In one swift step, I fully submerge my entire body underwater.

I try to open my eyes but all I can see is a blurry blue color. It's peaceful under the water, my dark hair floating effortlessly around my face.

When I jump out through the surface, I gasp for oxygen. I did not realize just how long I was under there for.

I run my hands through my soaked and flattened hair, pushing it back towards my neck. I rub my eyes and feel large manly hands on my shrunken waist, and I giggle.
